Tatiana, I wish I could say more than just "sorry". I read the three threads you posted and can only imagine how many thoughts and emotions you must be dealing with right now. Hopefully you will have peace very soon. You are a kind person.

My mother passed away this morning...
by Tatiana infor any old-school ex-jws here that remember my many posts about my abusive jw mother and my sister committing suicide because of it...she passed away this morning because she began to bleed out and refused a transfusion.
she had been in the hospital for a month.
it appears she suffered a stroke and wasn't found by the brothers & sisters for three days (they missed her at the meetings).

Are We Living At The End Of An Age?
by metatron ini hardly know what else to call it.
i have felt many emotions in my life and anxiety, many times but this is different.. it's a sense of the impending, a build up of pressure like a wall of water behind a cracking dam.
when does it break?.

Mother Teresa attacked by Atheist/Anostic group -
by james_woods inwhile i am no fan of mother teresa after reading some of the revealed facts about her life and work - i thought this was just a little out of the realm of polite conversation (but was interesting):.

Seems to me that there is plenty of valid criticism regarding MT. Whether one is a "believer" or atheist it should be clear that MT wasn't the shining example for humanity that many believe. Did she do good? Yes. But shouldn't she be measured by what she could have, should have done? Let's say she did do good, but was it possible for her to do better? Seems that way.
And if it turns out that someone has rather twisted views and motivations it can hardly be character assassination to bring that to the fore. Some criticize the college atheist group for their stance, but it gives people the opportunity to look at the bigger picture and hopefully get rid of some illusions. I wish people would learn to be more sceptical and take a closer look at seemingly noble public figures. They seldom deserve the hero worship they get.

Service on holidays= unannounced visitors
by Honeybucket inits thanksgiving- that means all those who went out in service today come over to harrass those who are "spiritually weak".. 2 car groups have already stopped by, plus they said the co is going to stop by this afternoon.... they first off, dont call before they stop by and then they bring the whole car group in.. i have gotten texts from witnesses hoping to see me at meeting tonight since the co is in town.. why dont they just do some door-to-door?
if you dont want to do that on a holiday, dont go out in service!.
dont come and bug me because you dont want to knock on doors of "wordly" people.. witnesses feel they have the right to intrude in your life at anytime.

Not that it's funny but the expression "spiritually weak" makes me laugh. They are the weak ones. Anyway, unanounced visits irritate me. When it happens I'll meet them at the door (happened again a few days ago, while they were preaching in the area) and not let them in. Don't want to make them feel too welcome. I do feel a little guilty though, it's not very polite, but to me unanounced visits aren't polite either. It's not that hard to pick up a phone, but then you can't pass the time in service.
Witnesses feel they have the right to intrude in your life at anytime. err.. I hate being harrassed
Not just our lives, everybody's lives. Try doing the same with them and see the look on their faces. It might not be a happy one.

Mark 3:5, "And he looked at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart..."
by Londo111 inthis is a quote from the book continue follow me:.
15 we can be sure that the king is angry when he sees the lovelessness that prevails on the earth today.
we might recall how the pharisees criticized jesus for performing cures on the sabbath.

What often bothered me was that most experiences are rather out of the ordinary, you never heard from regular guys just trying to keep faithful. It was always people in special circumstances who excelled at being model Witnesses. Gave me the feeling that average people don't matter and their average struggles were meaningless.
People traveling through crocodile infested rivers to get to meetings, on the road for hours just to get there and hours back home... and similar experiences. Fortunately I never wasted hours of my life just for getting to meetings, that were mostly boring and uninspired.

If Circuit Overseers drive Buick LaCrosses, what do Governing Body members drive?
by Calebs Airplane in.
i dont think anyone really knows the answer to this one... but im thinking theyre probably driven around by cos in their buick lacrosses and don't actually have cars of their own... but i could be wrong..... by the way, the cos in my area drive used toyota corollas... so it would appear that the american cos get the plush cars while non-american cos get second-rate vehicles.. .
purchase used circuit overseer cars here.... .
