If God created the universe then surely he has to be outside of it. He cannot be the most powerful force in the universe, just acting upon it.
Perhaps....
while acknowledging god as the most powerful force in the universe, i wonder if he is omnipotent.
this thought came to me as i watched an old star trek: tng, where everyone's favorite fictional omnipotent being, q, was featured.. .
if he is omnipotent, why could he not remove the "bitter cup" of suffering from christ in the garden?
If God created the universe then surely he has to be outside of it. He cannot be the most powerful force in the universe, just acting upon it.
Perhaps....

i see from the news tonight that sister williams has arrived in your beautiful city to compete in the australian open.

One of them was on a BBC News segment last year saying she still preached. She said it was hard to do door to door and most of her service was informal. I saw it on a review of the year thing a few days ago. I'll try and dig out a link.

To take BlaBlaMan's point on this as well, I wonder if those 13 complaints are against the same charitable entity, e.g. a single congregation or against several entities?

Sadly 13 complaints against JWs in the UK, whilst making us joint top, is hardly a tidal wave. What would be really interesting is if the number of complaints went up into 3 or 4 figures - that would make the gap to the next in line worthy of reporting....
okay, so i went on a bit of a statistics binge after looking at poland.
i thought i would have a look at my home country's yearbook stats here in the uk (britain).. so here they are for your consideration.
had to go into the loft for some of the older yearbooks, and found some other older publications too.. nothing too remarkable as such here, as far as i can see, apart from:.
We have had several reminders over the past couple of years that family worship means that you can count 1 bible study a month and a max of 1 hour per week. You count per family, not per child. This should correlate with the figures to show more hours and studies but no massive rise in baptisms as only a relatively small proportion of children would be eligible for baptism each year.
A side point on this is that there has been some implicit messages encouraging children to get baptised younger, locking them in early and making free choices about education, ministry commitments and so on much less "free".

background check first.. .
Genuine or not, AC is not lying. I can think of one very recent example in our hall where a sister openly and publicly did not invite some kids of a single parent family to join in with an event she organised because the parent is not 100% regular at all the meetings. She saw no problem with it even though all the other kids in the cong were invited. What's worse, she was a single parent herself.
Hypocrite.
The comments on having to pass muster with judgmental cliques is spot on as well.
like many on here, as a jw trying hard to follow the direction of the gb, i listened to the advice to pioneer and trust in jehovah to provide (mat6.33) instead of going to university.
after struggling for ages in low-paid physically-demanding jobs, i decided to become a student (thanks for the encouragement on here guys!).
i tell a jw i wish i had been to university when i was a teenager, and put all that pioneer time into studying hard for a good grade, get a good job, and if i had wound up tired as i am now, at least i would have been paying into a mortgage on a home and pension.
What a twat.
last night all us servants were called to an important and critical meeting next week.
no one would give me a heads up on it.
our boe went to their secret squirrel school on boxing day last week so i can only assume its related to that.
Mmmmm sadly I think you are correct. Yet another wasted hour or two....
