JWs in the UK: 27 years of yearbook stats and stagnation

Okay, so I went on a bit of a statistics binge after looking at Poland. I thought I would have a look at my home country's yearbook stats here in the UK (Britain).

So here they are for your consideration. Had to go into the loft for some of the older yearbooks, and found some other older publications too.

Nothing too remarkable as such here, as far as I can see, apart from:

Gradual decrease/levelling-off of baptisms.
Also that, despite the modest increase in publishers, the hours (and bible studies) are still lower in 2012 than the peak in 1993, so basically, more pubs doing less.
Despite 111,845 baptisms in 27 years, the number of average publishers has only increased by 34,259. (Surely they didn't all die or move abroad? )

Very interesting - and proof positive again that the door to door activity is NOT about creating new converts to the JW religion.

It is about keeping the current JWs in line, and of course promoting sales of the literature.

How many other churches in the UK have more members now than in 1992? Not many.

Compared with most other denominations JWs are doing pretty well.

The graph looks similar to Australia, except Britain has twice the number of publishers.

Put some little train tracks on the top of the graph for australia and one would have a roller coaster ride to rival Disneyland (other than loop the loops)
