Our current CO does a house in the road where he is stopping for lunch just before and just after he stops. I've never been out on the work with him but I bet his pioneer plod is super slow.

Who of you ever lied on your field service reports?

i never lied on my report.
sometimes i'd round up 15 minutes if i'd mentioned jw stuff to my brother that month, but that wasn't falsifying.

If 1914 is wrong then how is it that it was such a landmark year?
by awakening inthis is the question that came up in my mind.
now dont get me wrong i know the dates from 607 - 1914 are rubbish, but how would you explain to a witness when they will automatically say, look at the momentus year 1914 was.
that is evidence enough that 607 is correct!.

The WTS were lucky that WWI started in 1914. There were signs it was coming anyway and secular authorities had written about the risks of the social conditions in Europe.
As has been pointed out, there have been plenty of significant events previous and since then but I agree it is pretty much impossible to convince a hard core dub that 1914 did not mark the beginning of pangs of distress.

PO refuses to give me a "shepherding" visit ... wtf ???
by Calebs Airplane inso 2 weeks ago i received an email from the po... he wants to give my wife and i a shepherding call very soon... but get this... he mentioned that they had already made shepherding calls to the entire congo and we were the only ones left... i don't know whether i'm i supposed to feel loved or despised (by that completely irrelevant comment).
he's probably doing this to impress the co who is probably visiting soon.... my response to his email was basically: no problem... please feel free to stop by anytime... however, no need to come with a second person.
i would prefer a 1 on 1 meeting (not 2 on 1).

We have had shepherding calls from our group overseer 1 on 1 many times. The only counsel I can think of is against one elder visiting a woman on her own.
The Shepherd book says the following (page 48 onwards)
-- An elder may shepherd at the publisher's hame, at the Kingdom Hall, while in field service, over the telephone, or on other occasions.
-- The service overseer, along with the secretary, should be alert to assign each inactive publisher in the territory to a group overseer. The group overseer should then endeavor to provide needed help, either personally or through another qualified elder in the group. Depending on the circumstances, group servants or assistants may accompany an elder when he visits an inactive one.
None of that says they have to go with another elder. Granted the subsequent paragraphs do use the word "shepherds" in the plural but there is no explicit instruction that shepherding has to be with 2 elders. Normally a 2 elders visit is more than shepherding - it's counsel at the very least.
EDIT - the two witnesses point is key when counsel or more is administered.

by raymond frantz inyestarday all our elders were invited to a one day meeting urgently .i know they had their elders meeting few months ago .does anyone know what it was about .i heard from the grapevine that among other issues disgussed was a)how to deal with disfellowshipped ones and, b) how to offer councel to fellow elders .any elder attended this meeting in britain please feel free to share some info.

Yellow tabards are high vis sleeveless jackets. Nowadays they are worn by attendants at assemblies both inside and outside and, in some cases, by brothers looking after the car park at the kingdom hall. The spoof animation Cedars linked to illustrates this very well!

607/1914 and Family Study

My wife knows I have doubts but is not ready for full exposure. She says the kids do not have enough understanding of core teachings and wants them to know about 1914/607 etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions of how to introduce this topic in a way that encourages critical thinking or would even get them to question the chronology in a subtle way?
