I had a conversation about evolution with a young guy on the doors and felt utterly stupid since he was clearly vastly better informed than me and all I could offer him was "every house has a builder" and "aren't animals amazing - surely that's design".
That did make me want to investigate rational and scientific arguments against evolution. So I read Dawkins.

18 In view of the foregoing, what can we conclude? When Jesus comes for judgment during the great tribulation, he will find that the faithful slave has been loyally dispensing timely spiritual food to the domestics. Jesus will then delight in making the second appointment—over all his belongings. Those who make up the faithful slave will get this appointment when they receive their heavenly reward, becoming corulers with Christ.
19 Does the faithful slave receive a greater reward in heaven than the rest of the anointed? No. A reward promised to a small group in one setting may ultimately be shared by others. For example, consider what Jesus said to his 11 faithful apostles the night before he died. (ReadLuke 22:28-30.) Jesus promised that small group of men that a fine reward awaited them for their faithfulness. They would share his throne of kingly authority. But years later, he indicated that all of the 144,000 will sit on thrones and share his rulership. (Rev. 1:1; 3:21) Similarly, as stated at Matthew 24:47, he promised that a small group of men—the anointed brothers who make up the faithful slave—will be appointed over all his belongings. In reality, all of the 144,000 will share his vast heavenly authority.—Rev. 20:4, 6.
20 By means of the faithful and discreet slave, Jesus is following the pattern he set in the first century—feeding many through the hands of a few. Jesus appointed that faithful slave to ensure that his genuine followers—whether of the anointed or of the other sheep—would have a steady supply of timely spiritual food throughout the last days. Let us be determined to show our appreciation by giving our loyal support to the anointed brothers who make up that faithful and discreet slave.—Heb. 13:7, 17.
So the 144,000 are the F&DS in heaven. A few key points...
1 - There will be a rapture just before the final part of the big A
2 - The marriage of the lamb to the 144,000 will then take place
3 - The appointment over the belongings is in heaven. I am not sure however if this is before or after the marriage to the lamb.
Of course this is all irelevant since (a) it'a all a load of bollocks and (b) the WTS can change it's mind at any time.

This from the website reporting on the Oct 12 AGM...
The evidence points to the following conclusion: “The faithful and discreet slave” was appointed over Jesus’ domestics in 1919. That slave is the small, composite group of anointed brothers serving at world headquarters during Christ’s presence who are directly involved in preparing and dispensing spiritual food. When this group work together as the Governing Body, they act as “the faithful and discreet slave.”
..and...
Consequently, Jesus will reward “the faithful and discreet slave” by resurrecting the individual members of that group to heavenly life and by giving them royal authority over all Christ’s belongings in heaven and on earth. This is the same reward promised to all faithful anointed Christians. — Luke 22:28-30; Revelation 20:6 .
I'll check the magazine to see how it words it there.

I am pretty sure this is discussed in the article but don't have time to check. I recall the thinking is that when they are in heaven they are all the F&DS.

If the big change at the AGM meeting is dropping the literal 144,000...
by slimboyfat inthe best conjecture seems to be that the gb are going to drop the literal 144,000 teaching, especially in view of the december watchtower that pointedly does not mention the 144,000 number.
if they are dropping the literal 144,000 number, but still claim that only a small number are anointed, and can partake, and that only a few are left on earth, then it is fair to ask what has really changed?
they are simply clearing up the embarrassing situation that there were obviously more than 144,000 "anointed" believers from 36 ad until now, and that the number of partakers has been increasing in recent years.

Even if there is a change to the understanding of 144k don't hold your breath about loads of the R&F waking up. They could drop 1914, the literal 144k, the global flood and change the generations yet again all in one WT article yet no one would bat an eye.
The light just gets brighter.
Aren't we blessed for being part of such a forward moving organisation.

Excellent article that presents all aspects of the doctrine. The killer point for me that was one of my awakening drivers is the use of donated blood to process into fractions. How so few see the illogical nonsense around this is incredible.

The change to the inspection from being in 1918 to now 1914-19 was completely unexplained. There was no scriptural backup for this and very little in the way of even anecdotal "evidence" - just simply a bit about the rebelling against Rutherford. The interesting thing about that of course is that it is portrayed as a "cleansing" yet the whole thing was ultimately about a legal struggle around corporate matters - nothing scriptural, doctrinal or pastorial at all.
