I told a Witness who is good friends with me that I thought the D2D work was a waste of time. He was shocked but when I explained how ineffective it was he conceded I had a point. He then back at me with the "at least we are representing Jehovah" argument. So I told him the command was to make disciples and teach, not waste hours and hours talking to no one. I also tol him to consider that more people are being born than we can preach to. If the point is to preach to the majority then we are wasting our time. He then jokingly called me an apostate.

What % of householders would have a clue about the "life saving " message JW`s have brought to their doors these past 100 years.
by smiddy ini`m an optimist and i would say zilch .
i would bet you a million dollars ( if i had a million dollars ) that if you did a survey in the street that you live , asking the householders what is the life saving message jehovahs witnesses bring to your door on a regular basis , they would not have a clue.. and they have been preaching this message for over 100 years .
how inefective can they be .. the probable answers you would get are : they dont take blood transfusions.

Help with past bulling!
by Joshinaz inhey guys.
i need to speak about something that has haunted me in the past and has affected me still today.. in school from 3rd to 8th grade i have been severly bullied because i was raised as a jehovah's witness.
kids everyday would beat and me call me "jo-ho" and chant the name on the school grounds, and the school bus everyday without stop!

Really really sorry to hear of this. I endured a certain amount of bullying at school but nothing close to that level.
I really don't think there is alot that you can do legally but it might be helpful to go and talk to someone about it. Do you have any way of getting in touch with old contacts from school? It is not unknown for people to feel sorry for how they treated others when they were at school and you may get apologies - perhaps even form new friendships!
How about speaking to your parents as well? Time can change the views of people and they may not realise how affected you are by your upbringing. It may bring you closer.
Chin up fella! There are plenty here who are looking out for you!

T-Shirts or Signs to Post in Yard about "100 year Anniversary of Christ's Enthronement" ideas?
by SanLuisObispoTruthSeeker inone way to bust through the trickerly and mind control used by the watchtower is making people think.
if we can show how the "end times" began in 1874 using numbers from the "walsh trial", is thinking possible?
the numbers and dates used in scottland must have a use to us, using brother russells own words could bring one person to change.

TBH even if you are in a high density area pretty much all the Witnesses would ignore you as some kind of bitter and twisted apostate.
Non so blind as those that will not see.

I wouldn't worry about the GB living conditions. The UK Bethel has already booked out the Marriott hotel that is on site at Twickenham for the VIPs. Rates are £224 per night for the days leading up to the international convention next year. They were £300 per night for the assembly weekend. You could get IBSA rates but ONLY for a 7 night stay. Of course the Marriott was NOT one of the hotels listed by the rooming department for accomodation. Far be it for the visiting GB special ones to be holed up with just any ol' dub.
At least the impending sale of Mill Hill and a move outside of the capital will fund things.
Er... hang on a mo - I forgot... The WTS will simply ramp up their pleas for donations from the hard pressed R&F and pocket the proceeds of their multi-million pound property bonanza.
Generally speaking these letters are simply a passive-aggressive way of squeezing even just a few quid a month more from as many people as possible. Even if just 5% of the UK R&F gave £1 a month more then it would equate to approx £72k. If they did a fiver or even a tenner - squids in.

I don't even think that scripture can be used to support the overlap. I've looked at that before and my conclusion is that it actually supports a typical definition of the term "generation". It's talking about Joseph, his brothers and their contemporaries. Of course, some of them would have overlapped but I don't think that passage is in the Bible to support some notion of how Matt 24 is being interpreted now by the GB.

Correct me if I am wrong but I have never seen any scriptural evidence for two overlapping groups. Do you have the references?
You are correct there is no mention of overlapping groups, or even groups for that matter. Just the fact that 3000 were baptised and anointed with holy spirit in 33 CE, and then later in Acts Cornelius was anointed and baptised in 36 CE for, he was a gentile, and then it was opened up to all to be anointed.
No groups, sub groups, or first and second groups mentioned.

Thanks Kate. I don't even recall that so called reasoning being used. Was that in the WT?

@Katewild
What scriptural proof do they give for this statement?-cantleave
The scriptural teaching of two groups of anointed is in Acts. Only thing is it is in 33 CE the Jews, and 36 CE statring with Cornelius the gentiles. So the modern day groups are obviously spurious.
Also in the first century everyone was anointed
