Would you go running back?
by Nambo inif the tribulations started tomorrow, and all you knew of the bible was what the jws had told you, would you suddenly think, "they said this would happen, and it is, therefore they must be right", and go running back?.
or would you think, "just because eventually biblical prophiesies came to pass that "they" had read you from the bible, doesnt mean they are the chosen religion, because they get all these other doctrines wrong", and know these doctrines well enough to be able to convince yourselves.. .
replies such as "it wont happen cause its a fairy story" wont really help..

Were You Ever Comfortable Going From House To House?
by minimus inbecause i was raised a witness, i don't think i was "uncomfortable" knocking on strangers' doors.
(weirdo).. but as i got older, i simply didn't want to bother anyone so i was at there door for no more than 30 seconds.
at the end i hated being there..

I was never comfortable with it, as I feel sympathy watching householders squirm. I wouldn't have any problem if the pushy tactics were nonexistent. Having social anxiety I understand when people want to be left alone. Then others rag on you for not caring enough to continue invade others space.

I saw an anonymous quote on twitter explaining why paste bin was deleted. Anonymous said they don't want watchtower monitoring their efforts.

Could UFO Disclosure Bring About A Golden Age?
by metatron inthere are a great many people - and internet sites- that preach a sort of 2012/ufo gospel.
while they may contradict one another, they mostly teach that ufo's will intervene and save us, especially if governments admit that they exist.. yeah, ok..... been there, heard that..... but could there be a core of truth to this idea?.
what would happen if the world acknowledged that et's exist?.

If ET'S were physical I'd love to see the society try to explain it. They couldn't classify them as demons so their doctrine would be shot.

rather be in hades: I told them that I had a brain stroke due to the stress of stage fright . I suffer from social anxiety,so it didn't seem too far fetched. There's nothing they can really say, if my brain is too damaged to be of service lol. Thankfully I have friends who are good with medical documents. Once I feel trapped, that's when I tend to become very creative. If Im giving a talk, I pretend to zone out, then start acting unbalanced then they back off. I do have family and friends out the cult that I can lean on for support. After the move, then comes the fake illess that prevents me from being at meetings, field service etc. It's a shame that I will have to claim an illness that prevents contact with others for fear it will spread. Providing this document will also help out with my mother and aunt who will wonder how I got all this free time. The society will work you regardless, so I need to limit how much.

I want the org to go down even with my family still in it. I haven't faded yet, it's impossible at the moment since the C.O. is a family friend. He personally stops by my house weekly to drag me to meetings lol. He has a vested interest in me, since Im his precious newly baptized student. I have found ways to limit talks, and other responsibities by playing insane. He has gone to bat for me with talks, and things believing that I can't comprehend them. I've been baptized for 4 years, already want out do to the spiritual rating system. After the traveling overseer screamed on me for field service report I saw the light. They seem to believe that they can approach you anyway they like which is down right crazy. He's screaming "what are you doing" repeatly then grumbled, and I demanded the proper approach. If my family wants to stick around that's fine, but I won't be mind controlled into smiling etc. Next year I plan on moving so that I can start the fading process.

Why did you become a Jehovah's Witness ?
by Gnosis inwhy did you become a jehovah's witness ?.
initially upon entering the religion what were the positive things you experienced ?.
how did that particular way of thinking both benefit and harm you ?.

I have an aunt that introduced me to the religion early on. My mother allowed her to take me to attend meetings, eventhough I never wanted to go. I had resentment towards my aunt for this very reason. Basically I lived as a Jehovah Witness without being baptized, as my mother now believed it. My aunt suceeded in getting another aunt to join, then they both worked on guilt tripping me. They worked on my mother, who would inturn work on me even more increasing the anxiety. Next thing I know,C.O. knocking on my door saying that my aunt sent him, my mistake was letting the guy in lol. I can honestly say that I got baptized 4 years ago due to family pressure. At the moment of baptism my mind blanked, so my mother guided me in water knowing that I had last minute doubt. Basically right now she is catching hell for manipulating the situation while I was in a zombie like state.
