Ray Franz - is he REALLY a hero?

on one hand, he's enlightnened many to the internal circle jerk that is the governing body (circa the 70s).. but if there's one reason that can be pointed to for the jws becoming full on cult, it's ray franz.

without him leaving in the manner he did, and stirring the pot, they might not have change the rule (retroatively i might add) on shunning of disassociated ones.

they specifically changed that so they could remove him and eliminate his influence.. his actions single handedly have created the situation where we have to fade, evade, leave marriages, say goodbye to family, just because we don't buy the jw bullsh!t anymore.

Ray's expose' is NEW LIGHT that light that brighten our understanding , yes open a door into a place that for all our JW life we had no clue went on.

We never question why they were so closed doors, why you can't get audience with them when you visit bethel other than running into one of them in the hallway.

Face it, all we knew was that GB was the closest thing to Jehovah and that they were directing us in love with his holy spirit under Christ direction- and thats what we based our entire trust on in these people in every word that came from their mouth (words on paper)!

To have this information availible gives us a NEW life changing perspective to use whether to stay or go. Some start to feel sorry for them, some start hating, some actually leave, but whatever the case it doesn't get rid of the mental/emotional scares that has been formed, yet we are more informed to examine and analysis with a sharper eye the crap that comes from them.

Ray is my hero- who knows we all may be able to tell him in the new system!

Good points. Yet the forefathers of this religion decided 100 years ago to start in motion a legacy of ignoring this most clear instruction for christians down to our today.

You will find many other verses that is ignored for the self preservation of a lie for control and power.

When they say "we continue to pray for Jehovah’s blessing upon these arrangements and future organizational adjustments" (even though we know this already) this only confirms that this is not from Jehovah nor Jesus.

They are hoping the heavens bless their mad-made-man-run organizational decisions that is suppose to be theocratic.

They are i- Pad Nutty Now

so many at my wife's hall have rushed to buy i-pads,androids etc for use in servicetm and at the hall.. most know little or nothing about how to use them but have joined the stampede to jw.org tm and the reinvention of the wtbts.. it prompted one elder at my wife's hall to have a seminar at his house to explain how to use them in service and at the hall.. how exciting.... one 80 year old pioneer woman will be there with her new toy.. as a distraction it seems to be working quite well.

no need to worry about 1914 or other issues.. they are all nuts and getting nuttier....

DontCallMeShirley- good point- but some may argue "thats for stage use" instruction.

I think what should be compared to this and given a critical eye is WT policy of the internet. They have with authority turned the negative for their selfish use to a postive to demand conformance.

I know they get a kick out of it as they sit back a laugh at how the "friends" just jump when they say jump.

In WTBS history I wonder what other "encouraged purchase" has the WT silently instructed the R&F.

wt talks of having a close relationship with god, however when you read 1 john 4:9,10 the kind of love god has given us "agape".. according to the greek language this type of love doesnt beg for the father son / father daughter kind.

I would think the local elders would still have to give a recommendation because they are familiar with the local brother.

CO's barely knows the local non-servant brothers let alone their names from visit to visit.

They spend most of their time with the prominent ones in the congregation anyways.

It maybe that when a name comes up at the elders meeting that after hearing the details he gives his thumbs up or thumbs down on the spot and the announcement is then made the next service meeting.

I guess we have to just wait for the follow up info to see how this unfolds.

Jesus gets married AFTER Satan is destroyed - NOT after armagedon!

in an effort to prove that jesus' marriage is after armagedon, the wt study for this week said that the visions in revelation are not in chronological order.

rev 19 starts with "after this" then it speaks on armagedon-.

Rev 20 starts with "and" then speaks on the abyss of satan-

Rev 21 starts with "and", (here's the new light they are refuse to pay attention to) speaks about THE BRIDE !!! which is AFTER the 1,000 yrs of testing and the destruction of Satan.

"after this" and the word "and" seem to denotes something that continues.

I need a JW.net forum bible scholar to clarify this please.

Marriage of Lamb WT Study- Bridegroom marries "adopted" (children) wife

im sure this is stretching it a bit and i have lived a sheltered life, however paragraph 8 of todays wt study of marriage of the lamb- says the king's (jehovah) daughter is the 144,000 as adopted children of jehovah.

they are to marry gods son jesus the bridegroom.. yes i know they are not blood relatives, but how often do you hear of adopted kids marrying within their adopted family of brothers or sisters?.

Put another way based on the tower- Jesus is going to get new brothers and sisters from his daddy who will be "adopting" the 144,000 as his "children". They will become his bride. SO it just seem odd that Jesus will be getting married to his adopted brothers and sisters like a wife.
