  if those anointed spirit, bears witness with gods and they say "abba father", at that moment of anointing-- i would think they would know their fathers name -right ??

  "This Generation" at the meeting today

  it was really quite amusing 2day at the meeting when we got to the "this generation will not pass away" subheading in the wt.

  the conductor spent very little time on the section and the comments that were given didnt at all make sense really.

  you can tell its not understood by the majority of the friendsand will go over there heads, i was trying not to laugh lol.

  LOL..a brother answered and said there is "three" overlapping generations:

  the one before 1914

  the one after 1914

  the one during our time today

  the WT Conductor moved on to the next paragraph- didnt correct it or nothing since the paragraph said "two"

  Did Noah know GODS name?

  i know it's hollywood the noah movie- but they refered to god as "the creator" through the entire movie.

  director said he did careful research for the movie with what he could find including the book of enoch.. wt of course says he did especial in gen.9:26.. any thoughts?.

  do you guys remember when the congregation's monthly contribution report was read out loud in the service meeting?

  obviously, they don't do that anymore... does anyone here know why exactly they stopped reading the report publicly?.

  Is the U.N. preparing to attack Religion

  about 5 minutes ago i get an article emailed to me from my mother telling me that i need to find a way to get back to jehovah and his saving arm... she read an article in a reputable newspaper that all the friends are using to show that its not just jehovahs witnesses who see religion about to get attacked by the u.n.. it concludes with a link to the article and her desire for me to please read it in light of my recent situation.. .

  My personal movie review: Darren Aronofsky's NOAH

  like many of its critics, you think you know what you're going to see and .

  Terry nicely put review- I was kept on the edge until the end as well. To me the biblical account is generic and you get no emotion for the sense of what happen or what could of happen other than knowing the earth was full of violence, GOD was fed up and Noah did just so!

  Two things that I would have liked to have seen was the angels taking human wives and the other two sons of Noah having wives.

  Our JW training will have us taught that the "accuracy" of the bible is the new world translation WORD FOR WORD!

  Yet we are BLIND or have been given the blinders to the GB's assumptions and artistic liberty of the bible accounts in every publication that WE ACCEPT as the word of GOD!

  i would say that that would be impossible...given that jesus christ is simply an angelic being in wts eyes.. jehovah's witnesses have about as much a relationship with the angel gabriel as they do with jesus.. and, no...tacking on the name of jesus at the end of a prayer is not evidence of relationship..

  WTBS teach not to pray/talk to Jesus. Only to his DAD! in Jesus name. I always wondered about the idea of having a relationship with either YHWH or Jesus. To have a relationship with someone involves something from BOTH parties. I could be wrong on that.

  We are talking about higher level spirit creatures that's involved/busy with the 7 or so billion people to have a personal relationship with us. Did anyone ever notice in the bible OT/Hebrew Scripts that in a few acoounts the scriptures say "And GOD/Jehovah/YHWH remembered" Noah in the ark /Isreal when they were in bondage to name a few!!! Does that sound like direct personal attention?? I could be wrong on that.

  WTBS to me tend to put YHWH/Jehovah on a human level and that confuses the masses to think you just call on GOD and he is at your beckon call. I could be wrong.

  Viewing it in the father to son/daughter mode then you naturally can get that "feeling" of attachment- especially in lieu of what Jesus instructs us to pray "FATHER". I could be wrong on that too.

  Scriptural interpentation can be a monster!

  well, i saw it.

  you better get ready for everyone's talk about it.. it was 25 % biblical, 75 % fantasy.. noah was mean as a character, his family was great.

  I went in with no expectations even after reading many reviews positive and negative. Sure there were some things that were just outright "brazingly" wrong. You would think ((((spoiler alert)))---the director/writer would at least show Noah's boys each having a wife!

  At the same time since the biblical account is generic in someways its open to a figment of the (someones) imagination.

  The director said he used the dead sea scrolls and book of enoch as part of his resources. I will have to look into those things.

  Bottom line--if you want a hollywood version go see it-----if you are looking for verse-by-verse account please don't go see it to save youself some mental drama. if you want to talk controversy wait til the DVD and have some friends over and let the drama begin!

  Why? GB is hearing that many are not going because it's Detroit and its dangerous!

  Numbers:14:7-9 is the scripture use to show jehovah will protect you in Detroit.

  Video: scenes consisted of "feel good" interviews of a few brothers and sisters of how great the place look and feel, aerial views of the venue, group of witnesses walking the concourse with smiles, interview from brothers of the newly formed hospitality committee as well from the program committee.

  The "sales" video buzz words/statements:

  - be obedient to jehovah

  -jehovah assigned us to this convention

  - only by jehovahs spirit the planning came together

  -the GB loves us more than we love ourselves-they would not send us to a dangerous place to worship

  - it's a priveledge

  -the GB has worked hard in bringing us rich spiritual food

  - we don't want to let jehovah down

  -------GB is losing control------
