so many at my wife's hall have rushed to buy i-pads,androids etc for use in servicetm and at the hall.. most know little or nothing about how to use them but have joined the stampede to jw.org tm and the reinvention of the wtbts.. it prompted one elder at my wife's hall to have a seminar at his house to explain how to use them in service and at the hall.. how exciting.... one 80 year old pioneer woman will be there with her new toy.. as a distraction it seems to be working quite well.
no need to worry about 1914 or other issues.. they are all nuts and getting nuttier....

I would think the local elders would still have to give a recommendation because they are familiar with the local brother.
CO's barely knows the local non-servant brothers let alone their names from visit to visit.
They spend most of their time with the prominent ones in the congregation anyways.
It maybe that when a name comes up at the elders meeting that after hearing the details he gives his thumbs up or thumbs down on the spot and the announcement is then made the next service meeting.
I guess we have to just wait for the follow up info to see how this unfolds.

im sure this is stretching it a bit and i have lived a sheltered life, however paragraph 8 of todays wt study of marriage of the lamb- says the king's (jehovah) daughter is the 144,000 as adopted children of jehovah.
they are to marry gods son jesus the bridegroom.. yes i know they are not blood relatives, but how often do you hear of adopted kids marrying within their adopted family of brothers or sisters?.
Put another way based on the tower- Jesus is going to get new brothers and sisters from his daddy who will be "adopting" the 144,000 as his "children". They will become his bride. SO it just seem odd that Jesus will be getting married to his adopted brothers and sisters like a wife.
