I know the Circuit Overseer you mention.(William Osbeck) He served in Oklahoma too. It was because of his treatment toward me that led to me to start investigating the internet and X-JWs. This in turn led to the freedom from the borg for my whole family.

---getting there so early and then find that the "servants" have saved all the good seats
---not having time to make a decent lunch and getting admonished about not buying from nearby vendors.
Sitting in the most uncomfortable seats for so long that my whole body ached for days.
Having someone's butt in front of you as they try to squeeze through to get out again and again.
Trying to balance your food in your lap and eat while wearing your best clothes.
Trying to keep children from going stir crazy and the speakers droned on and on and on.
Standing in long lines to go to the ladies room.

i was a jw never baptized though for 12 years until my aunt was d'fed and my mother said she would not stop talking to her sister.
so she has disassociated herself at the smae time that is now going on 12 years ago.

things have calmed down again with my mother to the point where i found myself once again in her kitchen last night.
drinking too many cups of coffee as i always do at her house, i imagine if i were a smoker i'd have been lighting one cigarette after another instead.
it had been a pleasant enough evening, i sat there with my crocheting in my lap, something i always take with me to my mother's house so that if i get nervous or stressed out, my hands, and my mind, have something to do and somewhere to go.

we just got a notice in the mail today that a level 2 sex offender is living in our neighborhood.
they didn't give an address, just cross streets.
he lives two blocks from us which is directly next door to the elementary school my kids will go to in september.

I went last week to our local police department and obtained a list of local sex offenders with their addresses. Maybe you could call and see if this is available in your area.

when it comes to tv, every generation since the fifties thinks theirs had the best tv shows.
while america has fallen in love with "reality" tv shows like survivor and american idol, i've been thinking about how much better the shows were when i was coming up....
classic westerns like rawhide, gunsmoke, guns of will sonnet, bonanza, have gun will travel, the big valley, high chapparral, and wagon train.
I loved Lavern & Shirley. What were the two funny guys on there? Lenny and Sqiggy? They were hilarious.
Drama shows: Mannix and Cannon. Police Woman. Remmington Steel
I liked Marcus Welby MD.
Yes the quality of TV show is terrible today. We have more channels and nothing worth watching.

i haven't had time to post much lately but do check in to see what has been posted.. my soon to be 85 year old mom is facing surgery to replace her wore out knees.
they are both shot so i don't know if they'll try to do both at once while she's out or do one at a time.
Thanks everyone for your responses. I'm up early this morning to get Mom ready for her Doctor's appointment. She is so ready for this, she said she wishes the surgeon would start today.
Valis; Thanks for the idea of having her record stories. She's always been a great story teller. When I was growing up, she would tell me about her childhood and it sounded like something from a Disney movie. Her mom died when she was eight, and she was passed from grandparents, aunts& uncles, and older siblings. Each place had a story of it's own.
Mulan: Thanks for the idea of classmates.com, when I get a chance I'll see if I can find out anything about him there.
Mary: Thanks for the encouragement. The doc we're seeing today is known as "the knee man" so I guess he's done a lot of them.
Ascot: Thanks for your encouragement. Wish you well with your Mom too. When my mom had surgery several years ago, there was a home care nurse that came a couple times a week. It was a welcome break. Hopefully that will be available this time too. We've had a lot budget cuts in our state because of the economy and some elderly programs got the knife.

Thanks for the kind words. I don't understand all the new privacy laws either, it's like they went to the extreme with this. I know my mom doesn't understand a lot of things said to her, bad hearing and mentally she's not up to it either. I would hate for her to make the wrong decision on something because she didn't know what she was doing. Looks like this could lead to a lot of problems and heartache if people can't be informed about their loved ones.

Thanks for responding. Job search hasn't produced anything, but it most likely just as well, I'll have my hands full running to the hospital and caring for Mom when she gets out. We're broke most of the time, but it is ok. Maybe life is giving me what I need even though it seems hard. Will check out the web site you mentioned. Thanks
