@DD: After I wote that comment, I had second thoughts. Instead of 'crazy' I wish I had written 'dysfunctional'. Very few people will fess us to crazy, but I think most of us realize we are a tad dysfunctional - in our own special way...

@Prof. J Goldstein: wow, really! no major conflicts since the end of WW2? And how long ago was that? I'm sure the people of Korea, Vietnam, Timor, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc, etc. will all be relieved to hear that. Not to mention all the millions that disappeared after WW2 with the rise of communism in former Soviet Union, China, etc. Proxy wars are so convenient.

But what happens when nobody can even afford to buy cheap sh*t from China? The middle class in formerly dominant western countries is hollowing/tapped out. Who is going to buy all those plasma screens and iPhones? What happens when China can'e even manage 4% growth? Folks are already sweating bullets with the idea that it might fall below 7%...

I personally think that life for a few has never been better. This is without a doubt mankind's golden age of achievement, but too few are able to enjoy the fruits. I think what is worse for a lot of people that are just getting a taste of what modern life could be, is the sad realization that they aren't going to have a chance to take part. Media only makes it worse in the sense that 3rd world people are now entirely aware of first world standards, but they might as well be living on another planet.
We are facing peak everything and nobody wants to talk about it. I actually expect the long slow decline has already begun and if we are very lucky (cause nobody is doing any planning for it) we might see a few million living like their ancestors did. I am not in the 'cornucopian' camp. Enjoy it while you can...

Like it. Great stuff. I always thought life would be much easier if we just accepted the fact that we are all crazy and got on with it. None of the ridiculous posturing we see all around us is necessary, beneficial or even warranted.
Do we get a part 2, or was this a one-time event/episode?

Just try what konceptual99 did and report something like 18 hours, 6 return visits, 42 mags placed, etc. Should be good for a laugh. Or you could go all out and submit some really off the wall numbers.

Or maybe they will add a wing/complex for the retired JW's? Seems llike they have the space and the money for it. I know that old folks are a financial drain, so probably not. They wouldn't want to do the right thing, would they? Even my uber-JW wife thinks some sort of long-term facility would not be out of order. I tried to explain to her, that it doesn't make sense from a corporate point of view.

March 2014 - Food at the proper time regarding creation
by konceptual99 indear brothers.
after some struggling with trying to make the bible's account of creation square with the physical evidence presented by science i was so pleased to recieve the latest awake magazine (march 2014) via jw.org with it's lead article "the untold story of creation".. your detailed article provided vast amounts of credible and scientifically based evidence that counters even the most determined of evolutionists.
this article shall be an absolute blessing in the ministry and shall no doubt be instrumental in changing the minds of countless ones we meet.. the material is certainly new, detailed and clearly presents more than compeling evidence of as yet unknown arguments and evidence for creation that are irrefutable.

Yes quellycatface, that is why I have several crates of old B&W material in the attic. I don't know why, but it seems to burn better than the stuff in color. Probably just less moisture content. So, it wasn't a total loss... Actually, it was. I am always happy to hear about people escaping while still young. Let's go you young lurkers - push the 'on' button.
