@darkspilver: but they should embrace the changes as proof of the light getting brighter, right? I realize by 'heritage' they mean our version of it.

May 22 1969 Awake!
by zeb in"if you are a young person you need to face the fact you will never grow old in this system of things.. why not?
because all the evidence in fulfilment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years...as a young person you will never fulfil any career that this system offers".

If they are so proud of their 'heritage' shouldn't everything ever written by the 'society' now be available either online or dvd?

Do not enjoy life now!
by life is to short inok so i was stupid and looked at the text for today, i do not know why i did it.
i lost a couple of brain cells and put myself into an even deeper depression over it.
it was just that my husband had it out and i thought what can it hurt, wondering what they are up to.

When my wife left the Polish cogregation she had a going away party and someone gave her a gift basket that had an odd plaque that you could hang on the wall. It was odd because it came from a witness - probably they didn't notice it as part of the gift package.
Finally I asked her about it and discussed why it was contrary to all she believed as a JW. It said: "You only have one life to live, But, if you live it well, that is enough".
She took it down before the recent picnic she had with new English speaking cong at our house. I put it back up. Now, it has disappeared!

As long as he is willing to listen, keep asking questions. Maybe one of them will get him thinking about the org approved answer.
And I'd agree with you that most of them are really nice people. My wife recently moved back to the English speaking congregation and had them over to our house for a cookout this weekend. Of course I got the - 'it would be nice to see you at the meeting tomorrow' as they were leaving, but it wasn't too bad of an afternoon. At least nobody wanted to sing kingdom melodies!
I know she is hoping one day soon I will come back, but it is just not going to happen.
There is lots of good advice here from others in a similar situation. It sounds like your husband will absorb some of the heat for you, so take advantage of that. Just make it clear to him that you need to slow-down abit.

I found the panic keys in my desk (we never even lock the doors) and made the mistake of leaving one of them on top of the desk. My wife saw it while I was at work and was curious about it. Of course since it had a button she had to press it several times - and then many more times. When I got home she had strange stories to tell me about our security service. It took me a few minutes to figure out what must have happened. At least we know it works...

Medical doctor describes a JW death from noblood
by OrphanCrow inmost people will consider the noblood doctrine as being something that affects only the jws involved and they rarely consider the medical professionals who have to deal with them and the tremendous emotional and mental toll the medical professionals are forced to deal with when confronting senseless death.. the following is an excerpt from a medical doctor's blog: .
i do not worry much about being dead although the process of getting there gives me pause.
i have witnessed a few unpleasant deaths and i hope to never see the grim reaper coming my way.. one of the more awful and pointless deaths occurred early in my career.

That was excellent. Thank you for posting it.

Actually it has been converted to a cheesy ring-tone that all faithful JW's must install on their phones. I think it comes included with the org app package. I say this because my wife just got a new phone and I keep hearing that 'happy-paradise' piano riff that has that unmistakeable kingdom-melody buzz.

We had a sister who used to draw in a Manhattan skyline in the 'paradise' pictures. She could not imagine life without NYC.

Thanks for the reminder. I actually lived in Centreville for a year but that was way before I became a witness. Oh the memories... Lived with some friends that were going to George Mason U. Not sure they call it that anymore. Stay well.
