As for Barb, she told me later some of what she said to that guy; it was all calculated to make him wonder about a few things, and hopefully to make him ask the lovely Mr. Brown a few hard questions. Did it work? We may never know, but yeah, it would have been nice to hear exactly what she said. That is one TOUGH lady!

Even if he gives extensive evidence of genuine repentance and has stopped his wrongdoing, the individual is severely censored by the congregation and is not protected from criminal investigation and/or prosecution. Even if today years have passed, he does not qualify for any responsibilities in the congregation.
Rrrriiiiigghhhhtttt...give me a frickin' break here! What gutless liars they are!! Doesn't qualify for responsibilities?? That's why after my abuser confessed they approved his application to pioneer??! This weekend in NYC confirmed my belief that this is an organization led by evil men; the more they lie, the stronger that conviction gets.

WOW Dungbeetle!! How eloquent! This is the best review of the march I've read yet. I hadn't thought about how placing the lambs in the fence made them more viewable than if they had been on the steps of theWT. Excellent point.
As an aside, most of us placed our lambs facing WT; however, Jst2Laws (I think) placed his in such a way that they were...um..shall we say, MOONING the WT??

Yup, I agree with you. Your reference to the WTS's rules is an extremely valid one, and taking a stand against them is an excellent lesson in self-respect, not only for the parents but for the kids as well. My reference to the parental rules is that they have set limits BECAUSE of the WTS's rules; this is not only their right as parents but IMO their responsibility to protect their children from harmful influences, which, as you pointed out, exist b/c of the MIL's involvement in a destructive religion. I think we're on the same wavelength here, perhaps just using different words to convey our thoughts.

I'm with Marilyn on this one. I would be VERY careful what type of contact I would allow my children to have with the MIL. Tammie stated that she was going to "sneak" the children to the assembly. That implies that she's fully aware this would be in total defiance of the parents' wishes, and yet she would do it anyway. Since she's that willing to lie and manipulate, I would not allow her to be alone with the kids, as there is no telling what she might say to them. This is a case where the parents really have to stick to their guns and protect their children from harmful influences, IMO.
The MIL has the opportunity to see her grandchildren, she just doesn't like the rules her son and DIL have made...tough bunnies. It's her choice and they (the parents) have every right to set and enforce those limits. I do agree David that kindness is what is needed; however, I don't think that kowtowing to her religion is the way to go.
