well valentine's day is almost here...but the most romantic thing my husband ever did for me came a few days earlier - on my birthday.. this is the very first birthday i am openly celebrating since leaving so he took me to my favorite restaurant sat.
night.
as we were walking in, i said, "someday i would love a big birthday party with all my family" (sans jw parents of course).
Man, I really had to stretch my memory on this one. For some reason, I seem to hook up with very practical men, which is interesting as I'm not a very practical type myself (that whole opposites attract thing??) so I can't think of very many REALLY romantic things I've experienced.
Anyway, years ago (no, I'm NOT saying how many!) over the period of about 2 or 3 months, I received a dozen long stemmed red roses at work on about 4 or 5 occasions. They arrived with quite romantic (secret admirer type ) but unsigned notes and to this day I have no idea who sent them! The men I knew at the time completely denied responsibility and so I was left to fantasize about who my admirer could possibly be . In my mind, of course, he was a gorgeous hunk with long dark hair and stubble...it may be a good thing I never actually found out who it was as reality so often disappoints.

alrighty then.
for those of you who aren't into hockey: phooey on you
as you know canucks are absolutely mental as hell about it.
Seven,
and hitting people so hard their kids were born dizzy.
That line made me LOL ...the rest of your post I didn't understand a word of! (not a hockey buff, but I'm working on it!) but thanks for that chuckle. You have such a great way of expressing yourself
Love,

ok here is my situation....... i went to an attorney back in november to get my divorce.
she came highly recommended by several people.
she asked me a lot of questions about my marriage, circumstances, bascially got all the information she needed to file the divorce for me.
Hey ((((Xena))))
I'm sorry to hear how hard things have been for you. Divorce is painful no matter what the circumstances but having to go through it without any support is even more difficult. It's unfortunate that you had to have an attorney as I think it's easier on everyone involved if it can be done without them but I also understand that desire to just have it over and done with, instead of prolonging the pain. Sounds like that was what you were aiming for but got the opposite. I hope that your friend is able to give you some helpful advice so that you can move on. Take care of yourself and little "Bubbles"

just wondering, all you non-canucks(canadians) on this forum.
what do you think of canada, and canadians?
be honest, good or bad or in between, it'd be neat to read what impression non-canadians have of us canuckastanis (thanks pat buchanan).
Canadians: what do you think of them ?
Why, I think they're quite tasty. I'll have two, thanks.

many people became jehovah's witnesses because of the "love".
we were supposed to be "the most loving people on earth".
our identifying mark was said to be "love".
Do I yearn for love?
I think all humans need love and I'm human (believe it or not!) but no, I don't yearn for it. I feel a great deal of love...from my children, from my sister and her family, and from my circle of true friends, both on and offline. I am content with my life at the moment...oh, there are some things I'm working on improving, but that's more to do with the unending process of personal growth than the feeling that anything is lacking in my life.
As for thinking at one time that the "brothers" loved me...sure, I believed that completely. Then I smacked head-on into the wall of reality and discovered that the people I trusted were incapable of showing real love. Their love was shown so long as I toed the line and behaved the way I was expected to, but as soon as their precious reputation was threatened or, even more abhorent to them, their AUTHORITY was questioned, my personal welfare and that of my children became completely secondary. What a wake up call that was!
