They came, they saw, they left...
by NVR2L8 induring the holiday period one if my wife's brothers had planned a vacation in our area.
they drove about 6 hours to a condo they leased for a week to celebrate their wedding anniversary with their married son and daughter.
they called my wife to let her know they were coming to visit us since they were 2 hours away.

I feel sad for your wife NVR to be treated with such a lack of family affection but if it helps her escape then all to the good. -

Hi Joe, Happy Christmas. It's 6pm here and I am having a chilled glass of white wine. Went for a lovely walk this morning in the sunshine with beautiful red deer in the woods and watched Battlestar Galactica all afternoon with my daughter. Looking forward to a veggie Xmas dinner with her tomorrow and also presents. She's a vegetarian, I'm not. Goat's cheese tart, roast potatoes and parsnips, red cabbage cooked in red wine, cloves and orange juice. Xmas pud to follow with brandy butter.
Happy Christmas JWN lovely people

If Your JW Parent Died Would YOU Go To The Kingdom Hall For The Talk?
by minimus ini would like your thoughts, please..

I went to my mother's funeral in her Kingdom Hall ten years ago. It was the one I grew up in and all the people I knew as a child were there but they didn't speak to me. Very odd experience. Afterwards when we went to a pub for sandwiches three young men in their twenties came up to my nine-year-old daughter and said we are your long lost cousins. They all said the same thing and nothing else and eventually walked away. She found that very odd too. I really don't know if I want to repeat that experience if I am still here when my siblings pass. I suppose I will have to see how I feel at the time.

Elder Tells Study to stop using google for research ???
by raymond frantz inelder tells study internet is bad for research.
(watch the video here...).
it might be that the watchtower has embraced the internet in recent years as never before but in private things are the same .watch this video as an elder strongly discourages a study from using the internet to get answers.shameless mind control from the same people who promote in any kind shape and form their version of online truth ,jw.org.. not many years ago they used to demonise the internet as the following quote from july 2007 kingdom ministry shows:.

Thank you Raymond Frantz. What an idiot this elder is. No wonder people like my brother want to be elders and don't want to leave. How they love to tell people what to do! Uneducated people spouting nonsense, I don't know how anyone stands it. He oozes arrogance from every pore. If you set out to design an organisation to trap all the idiots who know nothing about anything but love telling people how to live you couldn't have hit on anything better than this cult. So, so glad I am away from these fuckwits.
According to this guy, they think they are the equivalent to Jesus on the earth and so people should ask them theological questions rather than looking at the wealth of information on the internet. Wow and I wonder why my relatives stay! A place for all the thick people in the world to feel at home.

Are you an "out of the closet" atheist?
by rebel8 ini'm atheist and not ashamed of it.
however, it is so politically incorrect, especially where i live.
i have a legitimate concern that being out of the closet too much will hurt my career or neighborly relations--i know for a fact it probably would.. i'm really cautious about who i tell.. how about you?

I like what you said Terry.
In the UK we do not talk to our neighbours or work colleagues about our religious beliefs or lack of them. People would think we are weird. It's a personal thing which is why it was hell trying to talk to strangers about it at the behest of a crackpot American religion. We do talk to close friends about life, the universe and everything, usually in a quiet moment with a glass of wine or a beer

Love the Life of Brian.
'And there shall in that time be rumours of things going astray, and there will be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia work base, that has an attachment…at this time, a friend shall lose his friends’s hammer and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before around eight o’clock...'
So funny.

Oh that's so cute, I want a fairy too. Reminds me of when my baby girl was that age, such a precious time.
I would like some perfume, some coffee flavoured chocolates or rum truffles and someone to clean the whole house for me before I put the tree up next weekend.

Xanthippe, your post really resonates with me. It's the small-mindedness that I can't stand. It's largely what started me on my way out of the org. These people have no ambition for personal achievements or self-expression, no desire to contribute to society. They're just culture-less bumps on a log. - Apog
Culture-less bumps on a log! Lol. Don't stay too long Apog. It has taken me so long to learn to stop pretending I'm stupid so as not to make other people feel inferior after being in that cult. It is worse for women of course. They really dislike clever people but they detest clever women. It becomes so difficult to hold onto who you are after a while if you have something about you. Hope you manage to fade soon.
