Approached by a young JW on the street
by StarTrekAngel injust a quick line, since this is the first time it happens to me and i could now see with my very own eyes.
the scene went like this, on the outside of a large store.. truck stops and a young boy, about 16, no more than 18 years old walks out.
comes up to me, pulls out a track and says.

It is so hard to keep track of one's tracts these days, I find. -

Does everyone here know they are on record with JW's forever?
by runForever inrichard ashe a full-time special servant of the order of jehovah's witnesses testified in the lopez case that every single disfellowshipping and disassociation and other things have all been scanned in 2011 and are and will be on permanent record with jw's forever.
is this legal?
another completely ironic and warped thing is the disfellowshipping form is called the s77 form.

Dear xanthippe, no , he simply had got fed up by the time he got his stuff back, with the whole fight the WT/JW Org bit, and as I say, wanted to just cut all ties, even mentally.
I say more power to him, he is now just a normal bloke, getting on with life.
One thing it brought home to me was the weakness of the D.P Law, although they sent back all that they wanted to, there is no proof they still do not hold copies of those documents ( not that they matter in fact), and they simply did not acknowledge the existence of the more sensitive stuff, S77 etc, and there is no easy way to get them to do so.
As you say, it would be possible to pursue it with Legal help, but again, would they actually destroy copies of files ? who would check up ?Yes I don't blame him wanting to put the whole WTS nonsense behind him and move on. I suppose a person who did want to follow it up could get their solicitor to write a letter stating that as there were over a hundred witnesses to the statement being read out in the KH then the written copy of the S77 form obviously exists and should be forwarded forthwith etc etc. Headquarters would not know who would be willing to speak up out of those who were present at the announcement would they?
Interesting that they deliberately withheld the form. Shows they are worried about the whole disfellowshipping thing doesn't it?

God does exist here is my nonbiblical reason:
by Curious Kitten in(before you read i hope no one gets offended by the word retarted...that s how i thought when i was 13)my mom and dad are divorced and my father never helped my mother on raising us, so basically she was a single-mother.
he just abandoned my three brothers and me and my mother had to work two jobs all of the time so we never got to see her.
when we did see her it was after school, but all she did was yell at us, make food, and leave to her next job.

Drugs, when properly used, are awesome. This is not an example of proper use.
Oh do expand on this statement please Viviane.

Dera Xanthippe, you are right about the Data Protection Act, the only problem is that it has no teeth if they appear to comply.
A friend of mine sent off for his stuff, and got back quite a lot of Info, including even the confidential Report done on him whilst at Ministerial Servants School, he got great marks ! but what they did not divulge or return, or even acknowledge having, was the S77 Disfellowshipping form, or any other info. they may have had about his J.C.
This info. which in years to come could be quite damaging to a person, they obviously intend to keep in perpetuity, and in defiance of the Law. - PhizzyDid he ask a solicitor if he could do anything else Phizzy?

John_Mann shows how WTS does it. Cherry pick the parts of whatever verses you like. Add a few...... And hey presto this is the solemn word of god. Lol.

In the UK we have strict laws on Data protection. You can use the link below if you are in the UK and want to find what data the WTs has on you.
Data protection
There is stronger legal protection for more sensitive information such as
- ethnic background
- political opinions
- religious beliefs
- health
- sexual health
- criminal records

They said it was not God because he does not communicate with humans anymore. And I was like....??? Extremely confused because how then does he communicate with the JW leaders?
Hi Curious Kitten and welcome. The statement above from the JW you know proves how mixed up this religion is. They have no idea how their leaders are writing the literature. They just don't think about it even though they think they are being led by God. Please don't stay around this religion. I'm glad you're not going to get baptised
i hope you won't do drugs any more, you could have killed yourself. When you told friends at school that you don't have a dad, that God is your dad, it shows you are looking for love, as you said yourself in your post. Religions like the JWs love bomb new people to get them to join, then when they are baptised the love stops and they just keep beating you with all the endless rules and judgement.
Just keep away from drugs and find some friends who can show you genuine affection. Stick around there are some friendly people here.

Why don't some members of the congregations never slow down or get tired out?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy uncle passed away two years ago at the age of 83. he served as an elder from 1965 to the last day of his life.
even till the end of his life he was still reading the bible.. he was an elder for 48 years.
never missed a meeting, pioneered during the summer months ( took vacation weeks),pioneered after retiring at 65 years old, never went on real vacation, went to all summer conventions and assemblies ( traveling to new york, wisconsin, canada and california ).. he also conducted book studies, watchtower meetings, gave sunday public talks, assembly parts, elder meetings, had a weekly book study with his family, cleaned the kingdom hall, and donated money when the congregation was short money for the month.. everyone is zealous in the beginning but tire out sooner or later.

Power seems to keep some people going, all the assembly talks and eldering. Look at all the old men in GB1. It used to be the same in the Chinese government, they were all very, very old, I don't know if that's still the case. Lots of Premiers who keep getting repeat terms live a very long time without slowing down. I think it may be all the adrenaline from power, it seems to energise them. Power makes it very difficult for some to leave even if they suspect TTATT. -

What comforts you when you no longer believe in a ressurrection ?
by EdenOne inour family just lost someone dear and very close, a faithful jw.
as we went through the entire funeral services and meeting long time brothers and sisters, who in general have been very kind and warm towards us, we realize that the hope of resurrection is a meaningless utopia for us, like a fairytale for little children.
we don't have faith in it anymore, and serves us of no comfort.

Hope you are doing ok at this sad time Eden. Yes we were taught to give up everything for eternal life. Why would any god ask that of us? Not that I believe in god now but I find it hard to remember I actually thought that.
Just living in the now seems to be working for me. Life is good now, who knows what tomorrow may bring. Tomorrow may be better than today.
