For the record and indeed my words are here for all to see, I have used logical arguments all through this thread. Now though my logical arguments are being described as anger and emotionality. So how do they show a rational response to my silly womanly ways, they roll out the cartoons. My case rests.

Men tend to think about one thing at a time, and compartmentalize a little more, which lends itself to a greater separation between reason and emotion.
This is what you actually said OneEyedJoe suggesting that men's inability to multitask is connected to an ability to separate reason and emotion. Then you presented an online article to prove it. Which article did not come to this conclusion at all. It actually concluded that in tests for multitasking, in stressed and complex situations, women are more able to stop and think about what is going on in front of them.

I don't remember the source, but I've read a study that demonstrated that women, for instance, demonstrate a much greater ability to multitask, both physically and mentally. Men tend to think about one thing at a time, and compartmentalize a little more, which lends itself to a greater separation between reason and emotion.
I would love to see you try this phraseology in a thread about religion versus evolution and watch some of our posters make mincemeat of it.

Ok I'm just going to say it. I cannot believe men are still churning out the bullshit about they are more rational and women are more emotional. Don't you remember where you learnt this bullshit? You think you are free of WTS teachings?
My husband and I left at the same time but for years I had been saying the Watchtower is full of contradictions and the elders treat the brother and sisters like dirt. I even said at one time let's just move, rent a cottage somewhere and not go to the meetings for a while. I told this story before on this site. My husband said no. About two years later we both left together, broken and in a bad way, I wish he had listened to me.

i am proud and astonished to say i have just been accepted for a university teaching hospital post.
i have a seriously sought after, senior house officer job in intensive care, endocrinology and clinical pharmacology.

Congratulations Snare on your new job!
When I started my degree after leaving the WTS it felt like my brain was made of rusty cogs that were creaking slowly around as I tried to apply myself to reading and getting myself to think. I actually enjoy thinking now, it's one of my favourite things.
I have found myself becoming a neophile rather than a neophobe. Learning and experiencing new things is fun! When I think of sitting in a KH hearing the same boring nonsense over and over I can't believe I stuck it at all.
I'm so glad you're having a great life after all your hard work.
Edited to say for those in the UK who have to work and study to financially recover from a JW life, pioneering and so on, the Open University is a great way to do it.

Parents who left 'the truth', here's an example of the threats that your children will no longer be subjected to
by defender of truth in13 some youths brought up by christian parents may not see the stark contrast between our current spiritual paradise and satans dark world.
some have even been tempted to see what life in the world is like.
but would you run in front of a moving car just to find out how painful and possibly fatal that could be?

Defender of Truth, you're right I'm so thankful that I managed to leave before I had my daughter and she hasn't been subjected to all these threats. Trying to prevent her going to university or make normal friends or have birthdays.
So happy I didn't subject my little girl to that, but sometimes I forget and grumble because life isn't perfect and she has relatives that shun her. Life's so much better than it would have been had I had to drag her to meetings and force her to be weird while at school. Thanks for the reminder.

I went to Western Buddhist meditation classes at a library years ago. The guided meditation was brilliant, very relaxing. There was also a teaching section which I didn't like because to me Western Buddhism sounded just like Christianity, giving your belongings away and self-sacrifice. There was no mysticism however. -

I think the timing is bad for the Borg. Even if JWs refuse to read those newspapers the public will challenge them about it at their literature trolleys and at the door, especially with the memorial campaign meaning more d2d work.
Coming in the wake of the Jimmy Saville, Rolf Harris, Gary Glitter etc etc stories it is bad timing indeed. However I am jumping up and down with glee!
