Helen Keller is not a hero
by StopTheTears infew realize just how wicked some of the most revered people in history were.
helen keeler (1880 to 1968) was a wolf in sheep's clothing, no hero.

Hi Mary I've been growing climbing French beans for a few years. They're very easy and absolutely delicious. I also grew Cosmos from seed like Bonsai and that is very easy, delicate fern-like leaves and big daisy flowers. Dill grows well from seed as does Nicotiana. Sorry I can't remember which variety of Nicotiana I grew but it grew to about five feet tall with flowers that smell lovely in the evening

Why Me?
by John Aquila indo you ever wonder why out of all the witnesses, you are the one that woke up?
i wonder many times why me.
i know many men and women that are much, much better persons than me; either they are much smarter, more humble, kinder, more successful, or just better persons all around.

For me it wasn't about 539 VS 607 etc. I just felt unhappy in the Org. I felt lonley and I also felt isolated. I had these factors first and then one day when in front of the computer I punched a question into Google and that was it.
OMG this went right through me. To have had Google in the eighties and in the privacy of my own home ask the world a question! Then we might have got out sooner and with less pain. To have had this site to come to and get help. Thanks Simon.

A small update on the ongoing investigation by the Royal Commission
by umbertoecho ini think you people would like to know that since the public hearing has finished.
there has been ongoing contact made to me by the staff at the rc.
they have been inundated with calls and the same experiences or similar ones are being related.. the staff are not backwards in coming forwards with insights that they have shared.

I don't know what sort of shepherding is being done. It may be with a cattle prod for all I know. I think the RC just caused a bit of a reaction here in that they may be looking up some of those "women or men" who suffered or have faded. Not sure at all......still, in all it's good to know things are ticking along......
Thanks for answering my question umberto. Wow if they are doing spot checks on people who've faded because of the publicity surrounding the RC it must have really rattled them!

Getting the Urge!
by Theburstbubble inevening folks, so as some of you may know we have recently decided to leave the witnesses and can see it for the man made organisation it is.
so, why do i get the urge to go back and feel guilty for not being there!
it's like my mind is telling me to be logical about it all but then something keeps pulling me back.. don't get me wrong i really want to break free from it all and i'm resisting the urge to go back as i have been miserable in the truth for a long time as i've known it's not right and want to do the best by my daughter.

Just the programming kicking in with guilt feelings if you don't obey. There's a reason they say don't miss meetings because when you do the programming starts to wear off. Soon you will find the urge to stay in your armchair more compelling. -

Thanks Umbertoecho that's good to know that the calls are still coming in. By the way how do the elders get to know people have contacted the ARC? -

Buddhism Anyone?
by LaurenM inso, i have recently been delving in buddhism and i must say it all makes sense!
like, the philosophies and ideas are what i've always believed but could never put a name to.
for example, they don't believe in god, they teach acceptance of all faiths, that peace can be achieved - not by changing other people - but by changing yourself, that everyone has goodness in themselves, that happiness can be gained internally (not externally as a gift from god), and that life is temporary so we should enjoy it!

Do we necessarily need a belief system though Lauren? How about learning about the world and the universe and looking for any evidence for life after death and/or God, but also develop a philosophy for ethical and contented living. Rather like planning a trip but arranging the flights, accommodation and other details yourself instead of accepting a package deal.
