Hey sooner how's the new job going?
I would love to visit, beautiful country.
many people are understandably upset and angry at the notion that jws have the right to shun people.
it seems such an obvious "no brainer" cruel and inhuman thing to do - it must be wrong ... surely?.
of course we look at things from the perspective of those hurt and harmed by shunning.
It's different for every family isn't it? Mine don't use the necessary family business except for funerals. They could stretch a point much more if they wanted to but I think they choose not to because they still want to punish me.
From what I read some of the guys on here have family that go above and beyond the WTS rules because they are naturally people who hold a grudge.
I do agree with Simon that there is a certain amount of choice here and some families seem to inflict pain because that's the way they have decided to be in their lives.
recently shared this with me.. they compared the tiredness they felt after attending an assembly and meetings, and noted how much worse it was than actually working and studying hard for hours for their secular employment!
why were they so exhausted after an assembly/meeting?
no, it wasn't satan.
the number of pyramids in the world just keep going up and up.
an egyptoligist thinks using satellite scanning technology he has found the remnants of another 17 pyramids in the egypt.
in central and south american they keep finding more pyramids and in java a couple of years ago they surmised that the riuns their was actually a step pyramid possible the oldest in the world.
Haven't done any reading on this since I studied ancient Egypt for a project at school but I thought ancient cultures built pyramids to get closer to God or gods.
Whether to get worshippers at a religious site closer to gods and heaven or to get the deceased who was buried inside it closer to the afterlife. It seemed natural for ancient peoples to think gods were up in the sky because they certainly weren't down here.

I think not only is it impossible to legislate against as you say but it is also a deep-seated human instinct to stop talking to people you believe are toxic.
The ancient Greeks used the otracon, pieces of broken pottery on which a person's name would be scratched that were then counted up to see how many have voted to banish a person. If the vote was unfavourable the individual would be exiled for ten years from Athens. It's where we get the word ostracise from.
The WTS are cruelly exploiting and abusing an ancient and instinctive human response to perceived threat from other humans. I agree the thing to focus on is to convince our loved ones we are not dangerous and they are not going to save us by shunning because we are never coming back!
hope this is the right place for it but.... wondering if there are people i used to know who are out these days.... i was in the derby peartree cong, and the derby littleover cong.

2016 years text.. hebrews 13:1, let your brotherly love continue.. wtf!
your thought please.
.
Just remember having one telephone conversation with my sister about what was wrong in the WTS and that we were were thinking of leaving. Before I finished she interrupted with, well if you do neither I nor my husband will ever speak to you again.
Like flicking a switch they decide who to love and who to stop loving in a matter of minutes. If that's brotherly love I'd rather have normal humanity.
none of my jehovah's witness relatives called to tell me or my family.
just found out this morning.
