  The worst gift of Christmas

  everybody gets one, the gift that stared up at you hopefully from its beautiful wrapping, and then, like a deflated balloon, delivers the worst gift ever.. i'm not talking about the gifts from small children like the "greatest aunt" coffee mug or the red and black lace folding fan.

  surely you never would have chosen them for yourself, but it's the thought that counts from small people who love you.. then, there's the what the hell were they thinking gifts.

  my mother-in-law has been giving these a lot lately.

  I don't want to spend half an hour watching this, so can anyone give me the four scriptures used to arrive at 1914 from 607 please. I used to explain this from d2d but it's been over 26 years. I know the first one is Daniel 4. Something about a time, times, and half a time. Then a day for a year. I know it's just gobbledegook but just in case I get the opportunity to talk to my JW brother or sisters about it. 😕 Yeah pigs will fly. Thanks in anticipation.

  i have a beard.

  i spend a month on vacation with no worry from the congregation overseas of course.

  i grew a full beard now and with glasses i finally have posted my picture on facebook og me... next to half life 2 cover showing i look like gordan freeman lol.

  25 years ago this week tim berners-lee turned on the first ever website on the world wide web.

  basically it was a self-help guide to joining the web.... the first search engine alibweb was launched in '94 and it still functions today.. 4 billion web pages later it could be said the project was a success.. you can read more about the early days here....

  christmas means nothing to me.

  i have no abiding, cosy, childhood memories of it.. i don't buy presents or cards....i have to be reminded.. i feel a bit weird.

  people are celebrating and saying: 'i'm feeling christmassy.'.

  It's whatever you want it to be punky. Personally I've just finished work for six days and I'm doin' nowt for six days, I'm absolutely shattered. So I'm going to read and watch telly. Wonderful! I'm making a roast dinner on Xmas day because we like roasties and pud. My daughter's a vegetarian so we're having goats cheese tart with it. Nobody's coming round which suits me, feet up, large glass of wine or three. Had four meals out with friends and relatives this month, it was fun. Do whatever you want to punky, that's the great thing you can choose now!
