I'm interested in the arts CoCo. I listen to classical music all day when not at work and visit art galleries when I'm on holiday. I read and enjoy poetry. I started a poetry thread on here once. I also talk about philosophy on here but it gets blasted as nonsense. Pretty bored actually, David, Goliath and all that. You know what I mean dear Coco. -

The Feb Broadcast Condemns Br. Jackson
by ttdtt inat about the 37th minute of this month's broadcast brother loaf of bread says that grieving the holy spirit includes "using deceitful words" isn't that what brother jackson did over and over during the rc testimony he gave?
did he not lie and obfuscate when he said things like "it's not my field"?
this org- strike that - cult is disgusting!

Using deceitful words, who could they be talking about?!
They are terrified of us. People are joining this site and starting posting every day at the moment. They are trying to shut us up. It's apostates who are the spoiled bread, having committed the unforgivable sin of seeing through the lies. They'd love to throw us all away. We're going nowhere.

Walking a thin line - Resigning Elder
by Sanchy inwarning of a long boring post ahead.
i feel like i need to vent my story out, as i feel quite helpless at the moment.. i'm 31 year old, married, father of toddler with another one on the way, due later this month.
i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.

Welcome Sanchy. You sound like a really decent guy, you know the religion is at fault and you're not filled with hate for individuals who have been duped just like you. You also sound very honest and truthful, be careful of that. I was just the same, it's the way we were raised but you need to be a little more discreet now if you want to fade and at least keep your relationship with you're wife and not end up in a JC. -

Some thoughts on the new midweek meeting
by Saltheart Foamfollower inthe new midweek meeting has been running for a month now.
here are my thoughts on how it is going so far:.
1) elders are looking frazzled from being on virtually every meeting and having to prepare unfamiliar formats for items.

It is sort of amazing how much of this actually does describe them.- Bobcat
It's because that is a description of religious leaders everywhere and in every time period.

I just think people can change, we have. Some on here have left the borg after fifty or sixty years and changed their life beyond recognition. They are accepting of gay people, people with other beliefs, sex before marriage, evolution. Who knew people could change so much. I worry that if I let myself hate too much, one day a relative of mine might wake up and make contact and I might blow them off because I'm so consumed with rage at their past treatment. That's not to say that I don't get angry at the religion and what it did to my life and what it's doing to young children now. -

Aspeger's syndrome, ASD and Autism - How do you know if you have it?
by KateWild inon another thread i was asked by fadetoblack about my asd.
sorry ftb i didn't respond, but here is your post again and i will respond on this new thread.. i'm curious to know how you know you were born with asperger's syndrome.
it seems to be extremely hard to clinically diagnose, but popular to self-diagnose.

It's quite interesting that HSPs, highly sensitive people (see Elaine Aron's site) are opposite to ASD people who struggle with interpreting facial expressions and nuances of conversation. We pick up so much so quickly that the amount of information coming into our brains is often overwhelming.
Interesting, so many different types of people. Incidentally HSP doesn't mean someone who takes offence easily it's referring to a kind of sensory sensitivity different to those with ASD. I found it amusing when all the body language stuff came out. I thought doesn't everyone know this, can't everyone tell when someone's lying. We know too much about people!

What if Albert and the Buddhist are right?
Which Buddhist? If you mean the Buddha and you've got it wrong in two sentences already I don't hold out much hope. -

Excellent. Hilarious that the off-camera assistant gets Jackson a fresh glass of water as soon as he is asked, does your religion accept corporal punishment of children. It's almost like saying, you're gonna need this!
