There was a newly baptised guy in a congregation I was in who killed himself. The elder and his wife who were telling people about it just dismissed it with "oh he must have been mentally ill". Even as a JW I thought they were bring heartless.

I remember that, people would say it would be a kindness to give them a belly button so they didn't feel odd. What a strange God, a person wakes up in the resurrection to find all their relatives and neighbour's have been destroyed but they have been allowed to have a belly button because He is kind!

My dad RIP

i will miss him so much.
he was the funniest most greatest man i have ever known.. granted for the first 30 years i wasnt that much keen on him and i don't think he was on me much either.....let me explain.. mum and dad met in 1964, mum was the prettiest girl in the town, mini skirts, raised hair, the daintiest figure, she looked the spit of audrey hepburn at breakfast at tiffanys.

Terrific movie monologue from "Three Billboards Outside Ebbings, Missouri'
by Captain Schmideo2 injust watched this movie last night.. the premise of the title and film centers around the mother of young girl, who was raped, murdered, and set on fire by an unknown killer.
convinced that the local police could be doing more, she erects billboards outside of town, calling into question the efforts of the town's beloved chief of police.
this does not sit well with the other townspeople, and soon, the town priest comes to visit and admonish her.and after hearing him tell her if she came to church more regularly, she would be able to find the peace and resolution she needs over her daughter's death, she delivers this speech to him:.

I'm going to order a hardback copy and donate it to my local library.
Brilliant idea Diogenesister. I'll do that too for the library I work in. Don't put it in reference, no one will find it. If you donate it they will put it in the 200s, the religious section and it will help a lot of those seeking answers who will pick it up and borrow it. We have a copy of Goodbye to Jehovah's Paradise in that section written by an exJW and it's never been pinched.

i was speaking to a sister this week via email and i said i was appalled by anthony morris's recent talk in trinidad and tobago when he said if you haven't been in the ministry for two weeks god looks down on your hands and what does he see?
he sees blood and you will lose your life.

I'm sure our brains protect us from trains of thought that terrify us. The thought that the GB is wrong leads to the teachings are wrong which leads on to there may be no new system coming. That's leads to I've wasted my life and I'm going to die. So they don't start down that road, they just brush it off.
