Blondie the post was by LoveUniHateExams, stating I must have been supported by my parents and then my husband pioneering, which is not true and quite plain from my post. Diogenesister is the one that defended me to LUHE because she actually read my post.

by snugglebunny ini know a lady who says she feels demeaned if a man walks on the outside or opens a door for her or stands aside to let her pass.
i just think it's good manners.
being a gentleman has nothing to do with equality in my opinion..

Xanthippe stated she worked part time to support herself - so she worked part time but was financially independent? ... i.e. her part time job paid all her bills and allowed her to be independent?
You'll have to forgive me because it was unclear from her post. -LUHE
LUHE I don't understand why you're asking Diogenesister to forgive you when you were extremely rude to me. You said my husband or parents supported me pioneering when I'd stated I worked part time to pay my rent, food and clothing bills. It's clearly in my post, Diogenesister got it, why didn't you?
Yes I was poor after only working part time from 16 - 22 while pioneering. I left home at nineteen and obviously paid my own bills. Before that I paid my parents board, I had to, my dad was not a JW. My parents didn't pay my way pioneering.
When I got married at 22 we both worked and both pioneered. On this thread about treating women with respect and gallantry you assumed I'd lied about my life and called me princess as if I was a pampered kid. I wasn't, my family were poor, living in a council house and I remained poor until I left the evil cult and got my degree.
I think you owe me an apology, what do all these gallant lovely men on here think?

But who walks on the outside of the footpath when they're with a lady? And if you do, will the lady feel pleased or demeaned?
Wasn't this from the time when men used to wear swords and didn't want to spike the lady with his rapier? Ooh er missus! Do you still wear a sword snugglybunny?
It's fine to do whatever you want snugglybunny. If the lady wonders why you keep skipping around her to the outside maybe she'll think you like ballroom dancing.

I genuinely think female jehovahs witnesses are very demeaned. They not only put up with embarrassing levels of chauvinism ( cannot hold a mic, witness Samuel Herds “small brains” speech) but to add insult to injury they expected to be the work horses of the outfit, so they get the worst of both worlds.
I agree Diogenesister, I regular pioneered for ten years when it was 100 and then 90 hours unpaid work a month. We worked part-time to support ourselves, all of which went on rent, food and ministry clothes. We pioneers were the first to be asked to do demonstrations at the KH or on an assembly. If the KH or assembly hall needed deep cleaning or painting guess who they asked to do it?
We picked up our bible studies to take them to meetings and assemblies and took them out in FS. We visited 'sisters' who were elderly, ill or depressed. Women made cakes for pioneer schools and if there was a social event prepared all the food. As a young pioneer I was invited to the AGM one year to do what, serve food all day of course.
All this, then patted on the head in KH talks and co visits as our 'dear sisters' with their emotional vicissitudes, the weaker vessels that brothers have to make allowances for.

Edit: there are really knowledgeable feminists, people like Christina Hoff Sommers. She often gets de-platformed ... by feminists
I'm glad you added this to your post to show that not all feminists are the same, that some of them know what they're talking about. That was your motive wasn't it?

It doesn't prove your point at all. You stated we have literally no idea about oppression. You only need to be able to read or even watch movies.

Western feminists literally have no idea about genuine oppression.
Yes we do, we can read history books

I held a door open on Tuesday at work for a man becasue he was carrying a tray of coffee through for his colleagues. He was very grateful. Yesterday a man at work held a door for me becasue I was carrying a coffee and a pile of books. I said that was good timing and thanked him.
Don't make judgements that all women are a certain way now or that they hate courtesy from men and other women. Just as I don't judge all men to be sexist just because a few are. Billions of people is too large a sample to judge without knowledge.
I'm a feminist and believe in equal rights but I don't hate men, on the contrary I loved one for twenty-seven years.

This Forum. Has it changed? For the better or for the worse? Or not a at all?
by ThomasCovenant inwhen i post i try to imagine that i am at a social gathering or sometimes in someone's house as a dinner guest.
that way it is easier to follow the community guidelines and posting rules set out on the site at the bottom of the page.
i wouldn't want to make a fool of myself in public.

Just a few posters seem to have become very angry and want to yell and swear at everyone. I get the impression it's not the particular topic that's annoyed them but perhaps things have suddenly gone wrong in their lives because they are spewing vitriol on all threads.
The intelligent, thoughtful, compassionate people are still around and they post occasionally but they seem to have retreated in the face of all the anger around. I miss them.
I expect to be abused because of this post and called a snowflake or other names but actually I don't care anymore, I have a life beyond the forum.

Abraham .... some of the things he was told to do did not seem reasonable from a human standpoint. Are we willing and ready to do the same? We may soon be asked to do the same!
This is to prepare those who have yet to have their KH taken off them and sold from under them after they saved and built it themselves.
