Thanks guys, I didn't know it was only pioneers who did the trolley thing or that CAs are only one day now. My husband and I used to say this religion would have to become less demanding on people's time or it would not survive.

When I was in people were supposed to do ten hours field service a month at least. Now I've seen them standing next to those literature trolleys in town saying nothing to anyone. Pioneering was 100 hours a month then 90 before I left. Seems like they have eased up a little on the demands on your time, but more rules about shunning and how to live your life. Am I right?

Profiling of an apostate
by joe134cd ini must admit when i was in, the idea i had of an apostate, was an angry bitter person who would picket out side a convention.
i was looking on jwservey and found on the respondents to a servey that 54% were either active members or fading members.
this made me wonder is the organisation underestimating the extent of apostasy.

Thanks blondie for that quote. How horrific that witnesses have to have their 'thinking readjusted', if they have a question about a teaching that they cannot swallow. Sounds like something from a totalitarian prison camp. From what people report a JC is just like that with people trying to talk about beliefs and use the bible and over and over again they keep being asked do you believe in the organisation. Horrible, if you don't recant you're out but they keep your family hostage, out of love.
So by that definition if you have problems with teachings of the WTS and how they fit with the Bible and you want to talk about them, even to elders, then you are an apostate.

it made me realize a fact that i am somewhat ashamed to admit:.
for over a decade, i have been aware of the false prophecies, the deceptive statements, the lack of scriptural support for many core practices and other issues with the witnesses.

Is there anything you could do forever that wouln't get boring?
by mynameislame innot sure when i came to this conclusion but i can't imagine living forever.
after a while i think i would be completly bored with everything.. not saying i wouln't like to live for a few hundred years or maybe even a few thousand if i could travel through space and discover other universes star trek style.
but the thought of living forever sounds like it would eventually become a complete drag.. maybe i'm wrong, maybe after a thousand years or so you would foregt all the stuff that happend at the beginning and just start over in an infinite loop..

the financial aid offer came in.. the first year of attending is actually cheaper than what we were going to pay at the state university after their scholarship offer.. i mean, really cheaper.. we would be fools to turn it down.. they are even flying him in for the preview week.. .

Hard to believe because when I was in they never stopped banging on about Christ's parousia and the ins and outs of the Greek word, blah blah. Yes jambon I was surprised they even have the audacity to draw attention to it being a hundred years that these poor guys have been waiting for that new system.

Avoid Going back to the JW's - Educate Yourself about Mind Control
by flipper ini've talked with some good friends on the board about this before and we seem to be in agreement : one reason ( among many ) that some disfellowshipped jw's go back and return to the wt organization is because they are full of uneeded guilt or uneeded fear because they haven't educated themselves about how the wt society uses mind control tactics to deceive them into thinking they have " nowhere else to go " .
i understand that some dfed ones may go back to the organization for family and friends- however- it's an exrecise in futility because once you learn the truth about the truth you cannot undo what you heard.
so some may just go back and live a fake jw life to appease family- but just think of how that can damage a person's emotional and mental health playing the fake jw game the rest of their lives !

You have to work really hard so that the place that you fit in with is yourself, there is no need to say, where can I go? It is all about learning just to be, I am, I exist and I am ok with that. That is vey easy to say I know but takes years of work to achieve. Building up my self esteem took a long time, education helped me learn to think but also helped me feel good about myself, I am not stupid after all. Getting challenging jobs, finding your way in the world, self-actualization and all that jazz. Then how could I go back to the KH where they would patronize me, as a woman, within an inch of my life? No thanks.

Kaik yeah the concensus online seems to be that odd coloured clouds are due to pollution.
Very chuffed (Midland Brit saying) that so many people, nearly 900 views, are interested in beautiful natural phenomena.
I think cloud formations can be very beautiful, lots of examples online.
Regarding beautiful natural phenomena once as a child walking home from school in a thunder storm I saw ball lightning hovering above a house, it was amazing.
