Well I just read what nVR2L8 wrote. He spoke to Mouthy on the phone and she said she lost interest in debating on the Internet, so I'm not sure why you're still arguing with me. Have a great evening, VI, I'm going to watch a favourite movie of mine, Bill and Ted's excellent adventure. So party on dude and be excellent to one another.

I think she got fed up with people criticising her belief in God. She used to post anyway about prayer and Jesus and then say 'now you can throw rocks at me and I will put the rocks in my rockery garden'. Perhaps she just got hit too many times. Very sad for a lovely lady who lost her daughter in death and much of her family to the cult. -

The Stupidity of the "Preaching Work" ...
by Muddy Waters inthis came up in another thread and i wondered if any one else thought this way while they were still in..... - that it is actually better not to preach as people who don't hear "the truth" are said to be given a resurrection rather than the poor saps who refused a paltry magazine and now merit everlasting destruction..

The preaching work is a waste of time from the JW point of view anyway because if bigJ knows the heart why don't they just stop preaching and the 'end will come'. The longer God waits the more people are going to be born that need preaching to. It's nonsense. -

Does growing up in a religious family make you MEAN?
by Divergent inyeah, i was mean.
could it be that i was not encouraged to have non-jw's as friends, so i viewed them as insignificant?
could it be that i found it difficult to live up to "christian standards" and took it out on others?

I think my daughter is kinder and more altruistic than I am. She grew up in our atheistic family. I believe in giving to charity and I think altruism is real, I'm not cynical about it but she of her own initiative joined Kiva as a teenager to lend small amounts of money to people in the third world to start businesses.
She allows people she meets longer than I do to show what they are really like. I tend to get fed up and give up more quickly with people. So I suppose a religious background has made me more judgemental. I tend to keep people more at arms length than she does.
Really when I don't give up on people because I can't, like at work, I find people are many-faceted and I see sides to them I didn't expect. Kindness when I was ill or willingness to cooperate when things are tough at work. I'm still learning about people, stuff my daughter probably knows instinctively because she's been allowed to mix with all different types of people all her life.

Had any weird dreams recently?
by LoveUniHateExams inso, i'll go first.. i dreamt last night that i was still at uni, i said goodbye to one of my lecturers.
then ulrika jonsson (former weather girl, shooting stars captain, and swedish nymphomaniac) gave me a lift home in her car - wtf?!
she kept trying to change the cd whilst trying to drive (reaching on the floor, looking for a cd).

I became lucid in a dream last night. I was walking across stepping stones on a river, they were getting narrower and it was becoming quite scary. Then I realised I was dreaming and thought oh great I don't need to worry and I just stepped onto the water. Great fun walking on water. By the way if dreams get nasty and I want to wake up I think of my bedroom, that usually works. -

You know it's weird I haven't had dream in years. I wonder what Freud would say about that?
Did your mother show you enough affection?

I was amazed at your story of getting your dear wife mentally out of the cult Eden. How you did it and suggestions for others in the same position would be of great benefit to many people coming here for help. In life we always come across a few people with enormous egos but I find for the most part it's better to avoid them. I hope you decide to stay but have a great life anyway, whatever you decide.
