coming from aguest's thread where she showed us the article that describes a "brain drain" that has been occuring for centuries do to "mutations" i can't help but be a little fed up with how much negativity comes from the land of science.

sure, facts are facts and they do not set out to sound good or bad, but instead of identifying the problems of doom, like our brains are devolving, why not focus on the solutions to those problems?

where are the hopes and dreams that our culture so desperately holds onto which actually provides the drive to progress towards them.

i want to know.. does every kingdom hall, bethel and assembly hall belong to the watchtower, bible & tract society?.

each of those kingdom halls, bethels etc are built with the money obtained by that country's contributions.

if a loan is needed the bothers of that specific congregation pay off the loan.. the society has then an extremely huge amount of property worth billions of $$$$ who has control of all those funds?

Venting some rage and pain.

my father the coboe and much loved member of the cult has ignored me and my children 17yrs and 8yrs old for much of my life and all of my kids lives.

i hate that religion for taking my father away and i hate him for being sucked in and putting all his love, time and kindness into the org and the stupid dubs and leaving himself too tired and uninterested in us.

my kids dont have grandparents, my mum is ok, she rings me once a month but kinda ignores my kids, just gives em $50 each a yr as a substitute for love and attention.. .

You have really been through a lot.

I am sorry about your parents.

But I am also happy for you that you have a nice new happy family of your own. That is wonderful.

Like you, my relationship with parent family is awful, but relationship with my spouse is great. I feel so lucky to have real love in my life, after living with JWs my whole life. It is very different kind of love. I am not sure they can separate their love from what you have to do to deserve their love. It always has to be earned, and its never enough.

It is painful.

Sab, the same facts that make you feel gloomy have also been understood by others as beautiful, intricate, poignant, resonant. The basis for poetry and great art. The essence of the human experience.

Maybe the idea of an actual ending is threatening something else within you.

Do you believe that something needs to endure to be of value

also, what if there is no guiding force, other than affecting you emotionally, so what.

It sounds like you believe cause it makes you feel good. An OK reason, to a point.

As far as your kids, you seem like a thoughtful person, maybe you have passed that on. Be a loving parent. You dont need all the answers, kids are smart, they just need love.

Scriptural Attendance

i'm watching a jw who is running himself into the ground.. before his last meeting, he sounded really agitated about his life's schedule.

all i could think of was how the wts was in his way.

2 service meetings a week (one where a presentation of some sort may have to be given).

Never Knew, seems you really care about someone.

Its a dreadful vortex, and very repetitive.

I went to ONE meeting this year after no having gone in over ten, and nothing changed.

Its just a hamster wheel of busyness to distract people from having a real life, career, and relationships.

Most people attend but just wait for it to be over.

On the bright side, there is an occasional slice of pie.
