  Where's the Worldly Witness

  a few months back there was a very busy poster called ww (worldly witness).

  i was thinking about his rise and fall today, and this is where it took me.. whether jehovah's witnesses as individuals are 'part of the world' or not, the billion-dollar corporations which administer jw activity, receive their donations, their devotion, and their unquestioning obedience, cannot easily be described as "no part of the world".

  and as for day-to-day jw culture, many of us who have spent a few years on the 'inside' know that many things there change roughly in line with society at large - 'the world'.

  Class Action Lawsuit

  i am seriously considering finding out what is involved in putting together a lawsuit against the wts.

  one that all xjw's in the us can join in.. has the wts not violated our civil rights, taken away our right to choose, without bias, how to live our lives?

  were not our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness violated?

  How about suing them for services performed, such as field service, constructions and things like that. Mine would come to over $100,000. Sure, they will claim it's voluntary. If so, why was there coersion to do it. Why do they surville who has gone door to door and who hasn't? Part way through the month, jws are reminded of their duty, if they havn't done it yet. On one occasion, when i failed to count time for a while, an elder told me my dedication had become invalid.

  examining the stories and archeology of the bible.

  this episode seems to be about the walls of jericho.. the question he asked a curator at the british museum made me think:.

  so what does everyone think about this whole human cloning thing our intreped scientists recently accomplished?

  i haven't read up enough and discussed enough to formulate a rock solid opinion on all the ins and outs of the whole issue, and i like to have rock solid opinions on just about everything (but i don't push my views on anyone or consider opposing views "wrong," that's something else i have a strong opinion about).

  i have been away for a few days so if this has been covered, please accept my appologies for the repetition and direct me to the appropriate subject heading.

  Watchtower logic / Going in circles .

  here is some devestating logic to show who the "faithful and discrete slave"(matt24:45) are.. since all truth about the bible comes from the f.d.s(watchtower aug 4 2001 pg14)and we can not understand it without them, only the f.d.s can know who the f.d.s of matt 24 are.. yes i'll say that again, only the f.d.s are allowed to by god know who the f.d.s are because god only reveals the truth of the bible to the f.d.s.. arn't we glad about that?.

  i'll challenge anyone to find a flaw in this logic.

  Anyone done an 'end of the world' psych study?

  has anyone looked into what psychological factors or psychosocial structures, apart from if your parents were jw, persuade people to believe that the world is going to end soon?

  there are groups of people apart from jws who also succumbe to this perplexing phenomena, and i wonder what triggers it, and/or if there are any official studies on it.

  i reckon it'd make a good thesis.. maybe it's mainly a city thing?.

  hey all...i am in a bit of a dilemma over the situation with my girlfriend.

  let me give you a bit of background info first.

  when i was 12 my dad left my mom, he came back for my 13 birthday and then when he went to leave again, my mom tried to commit suicide.

  'let go of trying to control the world' Maybe this is something for me. Maybe stuff going shouldn't worry me. As jws, we are told we have a say in a contest that is on an even larger scale than worldly affairs, that between god and the devil. Then also, we were told since we have some special knowledge and others don't, we are responsible for their very lives. Maybe some of the responsibility feeling is still hanging onto me.

  Were you in group counceling, or w a psychiatrist/ologist for those 2 years?

Jesus is the premier example making rice christians, yet the wt endlessly criticises it, because the don't want to do any social work.

  'Listen to Jehovah. Many think they know the answers, but they don't even know the questions.' If jehovah is talking, why would you need to ask him anything? Is he stuck for what to say? Has any jw actually heard him speak? Has brother pierce heard him? What a joke. There isn't an ounce/gram of spirituality encouraged in his advice. X-mas songs, those are a bit spiritual, don't dare listen to them. Like joy said, total bs.
