The king james translators were merely following in the steps of the jews who had written and rewritten the bible countless times, until it finally became semicoherent. Jews still have the original lies, so they think that they are special.

by Terry inyears ago i would spend every morning before work at a local coffe shop with an interesting group of men.
one of them was a muslim, one was a rabbi, one was an atheist, one was a business man and then--there was me.. somehow or other the rabbi and i were always left as the last of the group talking alone with each other.. one day i got on the subject of bible translations.
i asked his opinion.. and the rabbi spoke to me saying: "in judaism we hold it to be an inviolable rule: all translations are lies!".

Who is the "True God of the Bible" ?
by Phizzy ini decided to ask this on the back of "lost"'s thread about yhvh etc.. quite often on here we get bible believers trying to tie the whole mess that is the bible together, and maintaining that it tells us about just one "true" god.. who is this "true" god, and what is the proof that he is true ?.
was he the god of abraham and melchizedech ?.
the god of the ordinary jew before the babylonian exile ?.

I have been totally avoiding this. The other day, they turned this on where i was visiting. And so, i was subjected to a solid hour or 2 of it. At some point some lady w a screachy banshee voice came on to give her opinion (like somebody cares). I left.
They (the media) are certainly jamming this for every second of airtime they can muster. Every trick in the book is being dredged up to hook every breathing person onto thus stupid shit. The circus is absolutely astounding.
Carry one. Don't want to spook the birds feeding on this carcass/product.

I'm not DF or DA, but I still get shunned...
by darthfader ini met a couple i used to know many years ago (probably 20) in a local "big box" store.
i knew they looked familiar and since they were dressed up and it was saturday "mid day" i put two and two and two and came up with 666... they were jw's.
i didn't say anything to them just minded my business picking up supplies when the woman came over to me and started asking me if she new me from work or some company.

Which cong is the standard question for status checking. Instead of answering, a person ask 'what planet are you from?' It would shatter their jw mentality, i would think. Maybe get a laugh. Anyway, by refusing to answer the scripted question, its a refusal of playing their game.
