jehovahs witnesses and the curse of music.. .
i was inspired to write this after listening to a recent podcast of the thinking atheist by seth andrews.
as many of you know, seth was a devout christian who not only loved contemporary christian music but was one of the hosts of a popular morning show on kxoj in tulsa, oklahoma in the 1990s.
This used to puzzle me, when i was jw. A pioneer that a roomed w used to psyche himself up, for field service w music like the dooby brothers, ccr and rock of the era. If the wt worked as a religion and a life style, kingdom melodies should have done the trick. Btw, this pioneer is a circuit overseer, today, and so is his father (and his wife;).

as i've said before, things are getting weird across the world.
i believe it is possible to predict what happens next.. there is a "cabal", the rich and powerful, the big banks, the bilderbergs, the "1%".
and they are in trouble.. like wolves who have run out of prey, they have run out of assets to steal.
Principles of capitalsim include them turning on each other. Capitalism is like a bunch of predators, each in their own starting stall, like race horses waiting to be released onto the track. The gates are thrown open, the predators dig in their claws and race down the track, devouring everything and everyone, as they gallop. Once all resources are devoured and each ones growth has maximized, they start on each other. A huge brawl ensues, where all devour the others, until, only one is left. This last capitalist animal has ALL available resources, ALL markets in ALL the world, control of ALL of the propaganda channels in ALL of the world.

looking at the bible narrative now, with open mind, the talking snake and all, it is a poorly contrived story.
all these clever people picking up and adding to the thread, the fabric its intriguing, certainly a valued literary work.
fiction.. using this story wt has woven another, parallel account that you would expect to harmonize with it, and hopefully attempt to connect with reality.. in your thinking, where did wt become unhinged, drifted off into total detachment?.

Giving the nt part of the bible a small amount of credibility, i would use the preterist approach to it. That says that 'prophecies' were fulfilled withing the first century. Based on that approach, the wt was wrong from its very beginning - charlie russel. The context of the time supports that. The second advent craze was in full swing. This was a mainly protestant preoccupation, as the catholic had outlawed this type of thing centuries before. The rc church had the right idea, on this. The catholic idea was based more or less on augustine's city of god book.

most witnesses that i knew of were spurred on by hearing a talk designed to make them feel guilty over their not doing enough.
co's visits, assemblies and conventions motivated a few to pioneer, "reach out", etc......soon after the talks, usually, in less than a month, everyone went right back to slacking again.. did you feel "motivated" due to guilt when you were an active witness?.
Once i became fully programmed worker drone, i gravitated to high performers, not so much the glitzy stage speakers, but the pavement level workers, special projects workers, and that kind of thing. I got to know some cool, smart people. 'Course, they wouldn't give me the time of day, now.

it seems the new buzz phrase at the dc that they have been saying more and more lately is that jehovah protects one's spiritual health and that is what is more important that physical or financial health.. spiritual health.
as if that is something that is really quantifiable.
he protects it but we have no proof or evidence.. what is spiritual health?
Their programming, ie, their utter mental slavery to the wt corp and all of its latest pronouncements. Not sure how jehovah does that, though, since hes just a sock puppet.

for the past month i have been reading threads on the jwn that mentioned steve hassans books.
last week while i was at the library, i checked out combatting cult mind control by steve hassan.
i agree with all of what steve hassan wrote about destructive mind control (i may disagree with some of his conspiracy theories).
I haven't read it. Thanks for the rundown. I am interested in what the are his conspiracy theories to which you don't prescribe. I haven't heard of that. Thanks.
