Amazing new graph - publisher increase compared to country population increase rates
by jwfacts inworld population growth rate is 1.13%, whilst jehovah's witness average publishers grew by 1.8%.
watchtower growth is outpacing population growth, though at a dismal rate considering the 2 billion hours of preaching required for an increase of just 115,194. this is an aggregate number, and most growth is from developing nations in africa and south america.
what i was really interested in finding is how watchtower growth compares to the population growth in different countries.

I think you are going about this the wrong way, very wrong. Percentage can look very big or small because it is part of a total. So if I say "my company saw an increase in employees of 100%" that sounds like a lot! But I forgot to tell you my company only has 5 employees and now we have 10
But however if I said "my company saw an increase in employees of 0.9%" that sounds very bad. Very slow growth. But I forgot to tell you that my company has 500,000 employees (in China this is common) so my company had 500,000 but added an additional 4,500!
Do not need to look at % because in nominal terms it is meaningless. In nominal terms the world population is growing at 211,807 people every single day or 75 Million every year! Compare this to the JW cult which is "growing" by 115,000! So we have growth of 75,000,000 versus growth of 115,000. Which one is more? And this puts into serious jeopardy "Jehovah is patient with us" BS because for every day that he is "patient" 211,507 people will die at Armageddon. Does this make sense?

TV commercial seen in the United States, from a Law firm "Asking if you were ever sexually abused by JEHOVAHS WITNESSES, please call".
by Dunedain inok, so i don't know if this is "old news", and if this has been seen, and or mentioned already.
if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.
however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

>Can someone please explain to me HOW and WHY the JW WTBTS still has a 503.1c tax-free status when they are NOT a charity, they have thousands of child abuse scandals ongoing, it has literally millions of ex-members who will testify to it being a CULT which destroys families and has caused the suicides of many members not to mention the needless deaths of those who refused BLOOD on the basis of a bunch of ignorant men?
Everything the JW cult has done is not because it is BIBLE based as they claim but to make themselves AS DIFFERENT from other "Christian" religions. That's the reasons for their, NO BLOOD policy, the NO HOLIDAYS policy, the NO VOTING policy, the NO SMOKING policy etc etc etc.
Someone needs to get a real sharp lawyer and go after the jugular of this cult and take it down once and for all!
REMOVE THEIR 501.3c TAX STATUS NOW!< -

Is strong faith or belief in religion or "God" a mental disorder?
by kpop init is a most interesting study.
when one studies anthropology, one can see how the "need" for belief in a higher being evolved from early man.
and it served a purpose.

It is a most interesting study. When one studies anthropology, one can see how the "need" for belief in a higher being evolved from early man. And it served a purpose. But now in the year 2017, do we really need to believe in fairy tales anymore? Can we classify being very religious as having a form of mental disorder?
The answer to my first question is yes, we still need religion. Religion serves to provide a crutch for the mentally deficient and without that I think many more people would be doing crazy things. For example Putin. Putin has made Russian orthodoxy the official state religion. He saw the consequences of his people not having a belief in God can do. Putin is actually a genius. I am not saying this because he is using religion as a tool to unite his people but because he really is. I read some years ago that he is a master chess players and his IQ is 160+. But I would like to give him one big compliment for something else -- seeing the JW as a cult and banning it. I hope he succeeds.
To answer the second question, it is complicated. Perhaps it would be better to say that belief in God is like a vestigial organ -- necessary many eons ago but no longer needed today and thus anyone who breaks free from religion and the need to believe in something is at a higher state of evolution and intelligence.

by kpop inmy first time posting here but i have seen links to this site and clicked when i was doing research about the jw's.
i don't think you want to hear about my long boring story how i was raised a jw in south korea and moved with my family to the usa before i turned 16. like most of us ex-jw's and faders and dis-fellowshiped jw's we all have about the same story.

So much good advice! Yes I also want to be clear that I am an atheist and proud about it too! It feels so good to be free from taboos. I do not believe in God or any religion. I only spoke about that if one were to follow Jesus then being a Christian as best one can be would be exactly what Jesus wanted and nothing more. That was my point.
My no blood card I tore up into pieces some years ago because I was fighting with my parents. Although I never went to college I graduated at the top of the class only missed by 1.6 points for the Valedictorian award! When I was a Sophomore in high school I was already receiving invitations to top schools including MIT, SIT of NJ, Rutgers, Colombia NYC, Princeton and may others which my guidance counselors had contacted on my behalf. However I turned them all down and was given a part on the Special day assembly about how I turned this all down so I could do more for Jehovah. But that is not the truth. I was forced to do this. I wanted to go to school! My parents and the elders had already decided for me that I must not go to college. I know It is not too late but it is most difficult as I do not know if the scholarships would be valid now. Then I would need to pay for everything whereas I could have had it for free.

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

More proof the JW is not a religion but a real estate cult!
