by Christian Gutierrez inhey guys!
i just want you guys to know that today is a really great day.

Hi Christian and Katja,
You were both so brave. We wànted to reach into the screen and hug you. It was a brilliant programme, so well done. We watched it online here in the UK and I then sent it to a sister I know (she's very strong in the truth) and she watched it too.

Memorial.. To go or not to go
by Emily1987 inso, as some of you will know myself and my husband are in the process of fading.
haven't been to a meeting since beginning of 2017. .
we weren't planning on going to the memorial, but last week my mother broke down and said that we have to go to the memorial even if it's the only meeting i go to this year.

Hi Emily,
When my husband faded, he came to the memorial for a couple of years and then he stopped. I was devastated. I'd been brought up to believe that even those that had left the truth came to the memorial, it was a thread that kept them connected to the organization that said that deep down they still believed. But if they didn't go? Well, they were well and truly lost.
So the first one he missed - I was so upset. But I got used to it after awhile when I realized that him just attending the memorial wasn't ever going to bring him back.
Now, this week it will be my turn to miss it. The first one I've missed in 64 years!!!!!!!!!!!
If you go, your mum will be happy because it will give her a little hope. Go with your heart. Personally, I would go to another hall. You mum will still be pleased and it will stop anyone bothering you. Just literally go in and out.

After leaving the JWs - Has anyone stayed with Christianity?
by rulehayl ini recently made the decision to stop studying with my study conductor, due to a situation i found myself in that led to a high possibility of my unbaptized publisher "rights" being taken away from me.
i have since told my study conductor i have joined a new church (to which she dropped me like a hot rock, of course).... last time i posted on here, i was progressing nicely towards baptism, and was well into it.anyhoo, i like my new church, very hillsong-esqe.
so just wondering if anyone else has stayed the course of christianity after leaving the jws, and if so - where did you go?

My husband and I still believe in God but don’t feel we have to be part of a man made organization. When I first stop attending meetings last year, I was in a bit of a frenzy trying to find who really had ‘the truth’ then, but now I think my belief in God is just between him and me and I don’t need to be part of an organization or go to a building every week. But if you happy going to your new church, then why not? Just don’t go back to JWs!

What is this "religion"?
by Kom 197 infor a long time, i was convinced jehovah witnesses were just people preaching the word of god in a different way than other christians.
i was shown the real truth over the past few months.
i've been friends with this guy for over 5 years.

Hi and welcome,
this is so hard for you because your heart is involved and it’s so difficult to reason clearly when you are in love.
but please listen to all these people on here. If you become a JW, every aspect of your life and his and any children you have, will be firmly controlled by the organization. This is a dangerous cult.
You are young, you have your whole life ahead of you. Get away while you still can. Don’t throw your life away like I did. Run!

My heart goes out to you. You appear to be doing everything right by being calm and loving. she’s still young and she will start to miss you. Stay focused, keep the lines of communication open and try your best to stay calm when you talk to her. She’s clearly getting involved with JWs because of her boyfriend not because she wants to change religion. You are so far away and I’m hopeful she’ll miss you all so much she’ll come home. Don’t send her those documents will you? If she needs them, she’ll have to come home first.

Guardian Newspaper
by Phoebe injust to say, the guardian investigative reporter who is looking into child abuse among jws rang me today as i had completed the form linked to their recent article.. we had a nice chat, she asked me for some details about my particular experience and asked me to spread the word as they are looking for more abuse victims.
her new article will probably come out in 10 days, so look out for it.. if you are in the uk and you are a victim or know of one, this is an opportunity to speak out and you can remain anonymous, as i have done.

Just to add to nugget, the reporter asked me about the two witness rule, the judicial committee etc. I know she is in contact with Lloyd as well. I got the feeling, as nugget did, she wasn't looking for sensational stories but back ground information as well as our own personal experiences.

Letty,
I know it seems like a dark place at the moment and you are scared.
But this might just end up being the best thing that has ever happened to you. You have your whole life ahead of you. So much to look forward to. You WILL be okay. Please take it from someone who has had their life ruined by the WT. Get out while you can. Go and enjoy your life.
As one exJW said said: 'they can disfellowship me from the WT but they can't disfellowship me from God'
If you believe in God, he will still be there.
