Oh, just remembered...my super duper uber JW sister told me once she can't wait to meet David in the paradise. Apparently, he's very handsome and she has a bit of a crush on him ;)

Craziest Speculations You’ve heard about the end and paradise
by Addison0998 inwe’ve all heard them all our life.
my two biggest stupidest ones i think are, “ we can really tell the end is almost here with the way people drive on the highway.” and a girl who said she wants to hurry up and marry her boyfriend because she’s scared if the end comes before their married, she’ll have to wait 1000 years to marry him.
oh and also a poor old lady saying that she hopes jehovah wipes away the memory of her disfellowshipped sons that he will have to destroy.

One sister said Jehovah will make her forget she ever had her DF children.
Heard of sisters say they will stockpile mascara and lipstick because it won't be readily available in the paradise.
Picking out houses they want after Armageddon.

April 2018 Broadcast - normal weird stuff
by Listener inwe hear a story regarding the life of thomas and emma.
she states that "when thomas and i first learnt that i was pregnant, we were both really shocked" she doesn't explain why they were both really shocked but it seems an odd reaction unless they were using the safest contraception invented or hadn't been told about the bird and the bees.two experiences that touched the heart of gb sanderson were as follows -.
in russia a jw was jailed for 6 months, the jailers did everything to try to undermine his faith, which included violence.

I've just watched John Cedars rebuttal to the April Broadcast.
So, basically, no abortion at any cost. Even if a woman's life is at threat.
A failing marriage was because the woman didn't understand her husband needed to feel 'respected'
Another failing marriage left a woman with an unscriptural divorce for 15 years until she got back with said husband.
Some pretty old Russian experiences.
Put your phone in flight mode when reading the bible and then to top it all off...
A Barry White type music video about romantic love which, despite the singer having a great voice, was just plain weird.
My parents would not recognize this religion.

Jehovah Misses Me

So true.
Finkelstein
No one misses me at that congregation. They pretty much made my life a misery. No one spoke to me. No one cared. I came home from most meetings in tears. Why care now?
It was just her reasoning 'Jehovah misses me' that I was nothing to God unless I attended the meetings. He couldn't even see me. It sounds so ridiculous.

She tells me Jehovah misses me. It seems God only sees me if I go to the meetings. I am here...on the earth...still praying and still believing in God...but because I don't turn up at a hall twice a week, God doesn't see me. It's only now that I am out I see how utterly absurd some of the things they say are.
I happened to ask her about the new data protection requirements. She said yes, they all had forms and would be filling them in. I told her they could no longer makes notes about householders in the ministry without consent, to which she said the 'brothers, would find a way around that.'

The older I get the more angry I become!
by Sour Grapes ini did some self-reflection today trying to determine why, with every passing day, i become angrier against the watchtower company.
i am in my 70's and my health is failing.
at first, i thought it was because "worldly" people couldn't care less about jdubs and the little world they live in even though the witlesses think that the earth revolves around them and their desert god who was originally worshipped by the cainites.

Sour Grapes
I'm with you on this. I fight daily with my anger at a life wasted. I'm in my middle 60s. I gave them my life. I wasn't educated. I had no career and I'm still struggling to find money to pay the bills when people my age should be enjoying their retirement. I only broke free 11 months ago and my pain is raw. I now totally detest the WT and everything it stands for. In my eyes the organisation is evil. My goal is now to enjoy every day I have left. To laugh, to appreciate everything around me, to love my children, who luckily are not witnesses, and to suck the life out of every day. We can't look back, there is no point. But we can do something and that is make people aware of this terrible cult. Sending you much love.

GDPR Query
by Lost in the fog ini know that there's been a lot posted about this already but i wanted to ask if anyone knew if the wts was in breach of the information commissioner's office (uk) directive or am i misunderstanding something.
the ioc give a list of requirements with regards to charities and in part it says .
that consent is not a precondition for the service provided.

Lost in the fog
see John Cedars latest video which discusses this. As there are ‘consequences’ if witnesses do not give consent it is coercion. John Cedars spoke to the IOC. You should definitely voice your concerns too.

What Is The Most Ridiculous Thing You Have Heard From A Witness?
by minimus ini remember an elder questioning a woman who had admitted to giving and receiving oral sex from her unbelieving mate.
he asked her the most intimate questions which clearly flustered her.
interestingly, she “confessed “ to the elders because her conscience bothered her.

the books they couldn’t burn because the demons prevented it? I was told the exact same story!
I was also told my brother was studying with a spiritualist and they tried to burn books in the back garden and they wouldn’t burn.

The secret fears - did you have any?
by days of future passed ini think many jw's have secret fears in common, but don't often voice them.
it's too bad because then they might wonder why?.
for instance, one day at work while i was talking to one of the witness ladies, (on her belief of some bible proof of the last days) she suddenly lowered her voice.

I was always afraid I'd sin against the holy spirit and there would be no forgiveness! It's crazy to say this but until I stopped going last year - after decades - I was still always worrying about it. Had I done anything to grieve the holy spirit??
When I was a child they told me during the end, witnesses would be thrown in jail and tortured. I was a little girl and I was worrying about whether I'd renounce my faith when they pulled out my finger nails. I was so scared I'd give in and God would kill me for giving in. NO CHILD should be made to worry about such things. It's wicked.

Meeting Days Felt Different?
by pale.emperor ini dont know if it was the same for you, but for me when i was a jw meeting days seemed to have a black cloud hanging over them.
on thursdays i knew i would be going to the meeting that evening.
that i would be getting into my meeting clothes at 6:30pm, leaving the house at 6:55pm and be sat in the kingdom hall from 7:15pm-9pm, then milling around for about half an hour before finally getting home for 10pm.

Pale,
i used to dread the Thursdays meetings...with kids. I'd start getting ready in the morning! Everything revolved around getting to that meeting. Same with Sunday and Saturday morning ministry.
Even when my family stopped going and up until last year, my whole Thursday would be geared to me going to the meeting and Saturday night I'd be getting ready for Sunday. I hated it. Now on Thursday, I check myself and say 'oh wow! I don't have to go anymore!' It's fabulous.
When I was a kid my poor dad would come home from a hard day at work, quickly change, get us all in the van and then we'd have to go and pick up several people for the meeting and after the meeting we were always last to leave. He usually ate his evening meal at about 11 a.m. He was always so stressed.
