This is what one of the recent C.O.'s had. He would stroll in with this thing on wheels, look at the closest kiss-ass M.S. and say, "Here is my briefcase. Take it to a chair in the front!" And of course Brother Kiss-ass would do it with a big grin knowing he was "important".

Evolution of a congregation 1978- 2018
by joey jojo inour whole congregation was excited as we stood in front of our brand new kh and smiled for the photographer from the local newspaper.. for years we had been travelling 30 mins each way to attend the meetings and now, after a big effort of donations and hard work we finally had our own kh in our own town.
in the picture, there were 45 smiling faces of all ages, from the newborn to the old brother that had turned 100 and everyone in between.
the year was 1978.. the congregation grew and shrank over the years, probably hitting its peak during the 80's and 90's, there was even a renovation in the early 90's that the local brothers donated towards, for the benefit of the local town to hear the good news about the imminent arrival of the end.

At its peak the congregation had around 90 publishers in the 1980s. Now it’s about 45 and half of those are over 60.
Where I am, there were 86 regular members in 1996, with average attendance of 95-100 for EVERY meeting; and that was three time per week. Now a short twenty-two years later average attendance is 30-35. Just yesterday I reflected on who is gone. Sixty-three names on paper from clear memory. C.O. gave the, "You need to go where you may be assigned, even if it isn't as convenient" spiel a few weeks ago. Already hearing the rumblings of a merger with another congregation that will mean a one hour round trip too.

6:40 We don't give a f--k if we split your family up. Just because you are old doesn't mean you can think that you matter to US important elders who dictate that YOU go somewhere else without any of your family! Remember, you MUST OBEY our instructions no matter how asinine they are!! Now, BE GONE WITH YOUR USELESS HIDE!"
Wish that people would see this for the blatant bulls--t propaganda that it is, and not the "food" that it is claimed to be.

How do I make a comment or a reply in a thread?
by SWAT ini don't see any way to comment, no matter what thread (topic) i am reading.
help!.

No issues making replies here either. I do notice though that if I copy and paste a quote the comment box gets stretched so wide I can only see half of it.

Cotton wool jws
by purrpurr inthere was a talk i heard recently given by a top bethel bro, he was complaining that the type of young jws that have been joining bethel in recent years has been totally unfit for work or even life.
he called them "cotton wool jws" as he says that the parents of these young ones have kept them so sheltered from life that by the time they are of age to strike out on their own they are completely unable to cope socially, emotionally, mentally and that they have no practical life's skills or instincts of common sense or responsibility.
he said that the brothers at bethel have to work at peeling off the layers of cotton wool these ones have come wrapped in and that often when exposed to the reality of life away from mummy they quite literally go running back home.. for once i actually agree with a brother on the platform, i've met many a young teen or young adult whose life has been one long warm bath as it were.

Jehovah's Witness woman killed on the way to convention
by StoneWall injust saw this news story that was shared by one of my family on facebook.sad that she lost her life to an attempted car jacking.https://abc7chicago.com/3773297/.

It's funny that if she escaped the car-jacking and made it to the convention, they would say that Jehovah did that, but no such mention of Jehovah's protection when the results are tragic.
My thoughts went in a similar direction. Everyone yapped on about the comment this morning in the WT, "Jehovah was ready to answer their prayers for any help they needed..." that it is so wonderful the Jehovah answers our prayers. My thought as I read about this person getting shot that perhaps she forgot to pray before she left? And IF she prayed, perhaps she forgot to pray for a safe arrival at the CONvention? If she prayed, and she prayed for a safe arrival...then God didn't hear, or decided to not answer.

Do You Typically Accept The Press As Being Unbiased And Honest?
by minimus inthere is more “ yellow journalism “ than ever before!
newscasters and writers that you thought were trustworthy often miss the mark.. do you generally accept the “news” as being honest?.

Lies! Since the Watchtower knows how to lie, they can give expert advice on it.
by days of future passed instudy article for october: speaking the truth.
the article is about lying, but the wt is all about lying.
i guess they are concerned with their followers lying to them!.

We “speak the truth.”
Scare quotes (also called shudder quotes, sneer quotes, and quibble marks) are quotation marks a writer places around a word or phrase that the writer intends a meaning opposite to the words enclosed in quotes. I believe that to be the case with WT.
