The remakes are nothing other than SJW outlets to bash anything resembling morality or what any person trying to lead a good life would do, and promote the confused insane agenda of the left. IMO.

The problem with movies this last decade or so
by LoveUniHateExams inactually, i think i've discovered two issues.. the first is that there are too many soft reboots, remakes and re-imaginings.
don't get me wrong, hollywood has always done remakes and some remakes work very well.
the fly (1986) and the thing (1982) are actually remakes/re-imaginings of the original 50s films.

Do You Have A Negative Outlook Because You Were Once A JW?
by minimus init could be argued that exjws have issues in life simply because they were jehovah’s witnesses at a point in their lives.
.
do you think you or we are fairly normal considering we were jehovah’s witnesses or do you think we have a lot of baggage because we are a bit messed up ( even if we don’t even know it)?.

Do You Have A Negative Outlook Because You Were Once A JW?
No. Looking back I believe I shed the negative outlook when I shed the JW personality. The constant beating down of any self-esteem, the constant denial of developing natural abilities, the constant "poor me. I am so persecuted" mentality drilled into JW's, the constant intrusions into personal space by other JW's are just a few things that create the negative attitude shown by 99.9% of JW's.
One of my favorite things to do now is to counter every negative comment made by any JW with a positive comment about where my life is now. It just pisses them off to no end to think I am no longer as negative and miserable as they are.

Repercussions over Whiskygate?
by eyeslice2 inanyone any idea if there have been any repercussions over whiskygate and if anthony morris was ushered into the backroom after a meeting?
i am pretty sure if this had been a member of the r&f and the video was all over the internet, something would have been said about being careful not to bring jah's organization into disrepute.
i am sure the local elders in the congregation he is assigned to wouldn't have the balls to do it and there would have to be a mole pretty high up to find out if the gb got involved.. we can but speculate i guess..

How many of us here have had 'counsel' for much less demeaning things?
I got yanked into the back room and "counseled" about my vehicle having been seen in front of a local nightclub after midnight. The eldurrs told me I should park a block or two away instead of right out front as I surely didn't "want to stumble" someone.
I asked how much trouble I would be in if I innocently happened to be parked in front of a single woman's home until 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning?

INSANE last days speculation in 10/2019 WT
by neat blue dog inthe october 2019 study edition, speaking of the last days after the governments destroy all religion except jws:.
at some point, the people whose re-ligions were destroyed may resent thefact that jehovah’s witnesses keep prac-ticing their religion.
we can only imag-ine the uproar that this might create, in-cluding on social media.

We will need to show our loyalty by supporting these brothers and by following their God-given direction.
So the gibbering boobies are not inspired and can make mistakes in doctrine and organizational matters, but these second class "leaders" are the ones that god will whisper in their ears? Yeeaaah...I don't think so!
Are the WT / GB trying to provoke Govts. into reacting to their rhetoric of whats to befall R&F JW`s in the very near future fulfilling their own prophecy ?
That is what typical bullies do. Provoke the fight and then claim THEY are the victim. Seen that way too many times for it to be coincidence.

Why do CO's refuse to strip Elders of their position?
by Tenacious inin several congregations i attended many elders were downright evil and flat out drunk with power.. many times i personally knew of things done by them that would have been a disfellowshipping offense had they not been elders.
and even though many times these issues and spiritual atrocities were reported to the co's and hq they would many times (if not all the time), get off with a mere slap on the wrist or a forced apology.. why do you believe elders are so protected?.
my theory is the authority integrity within the congregation.

Why do you believe Elders are so protected?
My belief is that it is because they have for so long, and so loudly, proclaimed "we are appointed by Holy
ShitSpirit that they are afraid that identifying and correcting any except the most blatant impossible to deny brazen conduct will cause the average low IQ dub to suspect there really is no holy spirit guiding the men running things. -

Before being used as a Kingdom Hall, it is cleared of any relics of false worship. Being thus adjusted, it is dedicated to Jehovah for the sole purpose of worshiping him. There is no sharing or fellowship between true and false worship.
And I am sure that there just HAS to be some bible verse they can pull out of their ass to back this up. Maybe from the old testament where the jews went in to the "promised" land and did just that with all those temples to Ba'al and Dagon etc.!

Why was Amnon (son of David) not put to death for raping his half-sister Tamar
by blondie init is amazing what comes up when i am researching.. i was thinking about the 2 witness rule.
amnon tricked his half-sister tamar to be alone with him and then raped her.
tamar's full brother absalom found out, it is implied by the wts that there had not been 2 witnesses to the rape (hah!).

Deuteronomy 24:16 that states that children are not to be put to death for their parent’s sin!
Of course there is no contradiction in the bible when it states in Exodus 20:5 . . .I Jehovah your God am a God....bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation.

Why this obsession with Standardisation?
by eyeslice2 inthe longer i am out, the the less i understand the logic of this organisation.. i thought that the kingdom hall my wife attends was perfectly fine and adequate, in fact i liked that it sat in grassy grounds, surrounded by trees.
it probably wasn't in any dire need of re-decorating at this point.
others, obviously, thought otherwise and so the hall has recently been subjected to a make-over.. the parking lot has been extended in true joni michell they've "paved paradise and put up a parking lot".

Or what about jws who try to save chairs for late family or friends?
A jack-ass ( AKA an elder) always referred to (Habakkuk 2:3) "It will not be late. Then he would proceed to rant about how Gee-HO'-Vuh will not be late, and neither should any JW. That is one reason I would stand at the door until everyone stood for the song and THEN stroll in.

Here is one I hate. It's not necessarily dreary, but it sucks chunky munkey ballz:
I know exactly what you mean. I absolutely HATE that "song". It is what I term an "ear worm". It gets in your ear and burrows in and will not leave. I also remember when the JDubs prided themselves on, "We are not like other religions who base their belief on feelings and emotion. WE base our belief on reason and fact!" Just another lie!

Jehovah, Jehovah, Jehovah
by Sour Grapes inmy pimi wife listens to a lot of the meetings on the phone with the speaker on.
when i am watching tv i hear the meetings in the background.
i just cringe with how a witless can't give a comment without having said jehovah at least two times.

I notice they do not say Jehovah...it is always Gee-HO'-vuh, and as you say it is repeated multiple times, as if it is some kind of verbal talisman.
