  Headship and WT's Changed Understanding

  i don't think anyone has mentioned that the february 2021 study wt (p. 15, 16; par.

  8) changed wt's long standing view on headship within the congregation.

  wt used to view all baptized males as being the head of all baptized sisters.. this view led to such absurdities as a sister having to wear a head covering on a bible study because her baptized 10 year old son was sitting in on the study with her.

  The Bible says, "15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering..."

  I have always had a bit of a bone of contention with this even though I am male. If a woman's hair is by nature longer than a mans, then it follows that her hair is her head covering. Not some goofy fast food napkin, not some scarf, not a hat.

  But of course if it were not for making idiotic rules the gibbering body would have nothing to do, because most people are probably intelligent enough to understand simple written words without a multitude of interpretations of men.

  it is easier to be at the same intellectual level as those in your social group.

  Yes, remember BITD when JW's took some pride in helping people UP to a higher level? Teaching them to read, to write, and to do research? As mentioned in earlier posts, now it is a dumbed down version where everyone is expected to bring themselves DOWN to the lowest common denominator. No room for intelligence.

  we are encouraged to all, if possible, get the vaccinations.

  if you don’t, we are told that we definitely could get the virus.

  The jab is the "new" way to control the population. Those who decline to get it will be shunned, fired from their jobs, marginalized as anti-vaxxer crack-pots, likely denied medical treatment for any illness or accident, and ridiculed in public. Already in my area of the U.S. there is a local television channel that is posting the name and photo of at least two people who have declined the jab, with the scrolling banner at the bottom of the screen advising that "some misinformed people are not getting the jab for 'false propaganda' reasons.''

  Personally I will still be waiting for quite some time before willingly submitting to the de-population jab.

  What’s Your View On Self Defense?

  if someone comes to you with a knife or a gun, would you defend yourself if you could?

  if someone tried to beat you up , would you physically engage, run away or just try to talk the person out of beating you up or robbing you?

  if you did have a gun to defend yourself would you shoot to kill or would you simply aim for the ankle to incapacitate the person?

  I don't own a gun so if there was any serious trouble in my own home, I could use a knife.

  Criminals love to engage with victims who bring knives to gun fights. But to each their own.

  Single Pretty Girls that are JWs, have so much potential, but sadly........

  the pandemic has made the situation worse for single young jw girls.. i'm hearing tons of sad stories of single jw girls who are going, or have gone into deep depression.

  with many having thoughts of committing suicide and hoping for a better life in the new order.. the pandemic has made it almost impossible for young jw girls to find a suitable marriage mate.

  especially since the single jw boys-men want young, gorgeous, thin, virgins, who look like models and summit to the headship arrangement.

  I know I likely will get thumbs down for this, but when I was thinking of marrying I made the comment to my mother, "There are only two kinds of JW women. Those that are married, and those who are not, for VERY GOOD reason." I also noticed, and perhaps it was only in my part of the U.S., that of the single JW women there were usually only two kinds. Those who had never been married and wanted an elder or MS with a BIG . . . bank balance. And those who had been married and wanted a dad for their ill-mannered brats. Oh, and he also had to have a BIG . . . bank balance.

  That is why I make it my practice to only date non-JW women. And they know from the start that marriage is NEVER going to be in the future.

  You have to be willing to kill.

  Agreed. My father who served in the United States Army pre-JW was the one who taught me firearm safety and use. He was a multiple decorated soldier who served in Korea during some of the bloodiest fighting. He was also a military trained sniper. I cannot count the times he drilled it into me that you NEVER draw a weapon unless you are willing to pull the trigger, and you NEVER pull the trigger unless you intend to kill what you are aiming at. Of course shooting range practice does not involve killing anything other than several hundred rounds of ammunition per year. But you are right, it takes a learned mind-set to actually be willing to use a firearm for self-defense, and not everyone is capable of that.

  If you use a gun its best to get the best defense ammo you can find.

  Again, I agree. I use what I consider the best available hollow-point PDA I can find in my ACP carry mags. They will expand and fragment and not just go through and keep going to God only knows where.

  Nothing beats being wise and avoiding situations and places that you really don't want to be in.

  And that is why people should learn "Situational Awareness". It is said, "With great power, comes great responsibility"; and for anyone who chooses to carry a weapon of self defense they need to know they have great power (over life and death) and accept the great responsibility that attaches as a result. Do what must be done to avoid situations that will put them in the spot of making that choice, but be ready to make it and accept the consequences of their choice if they find themselves in a situation that demands action.

  Self defense is a skill that everyone should learn. As far as the use of a firearm...I am a CWP holder, I practice, practice, practice with every one of my firearms. I firmly believe in gun control, and that is why I hit what I aim at (Tip of the hat to pistolpete). As far as, "would you simply aim for the ankle to incapacitate the person??" No. Center mass, and shoot until the threat is neutralized. Also IMO everyone should learn and practice "situational awareness". There are way to many nitwits wandering around in a mental daze with no clue what is going on around them.

  I carry a firearm because a cop is too heavy. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Police do not prevent crime, they investigate after the fact. Better to be judged by twelve, then carried by six.

  DPA Blood ASAP

  i am in need of the current copy of the newest dpa blood card as some of the jw's in my mothers congregation are asking about if she signed the latest copy after she passed today.

  i am curious as to why they are asking about this specifically and not offering condolences on the loss of my mother.

  there has been some shady interactions leading to my mother requesting me to talk to certain elders to request that certain people not interact with her further.

  What's next? "Did she leave the Org any money?"

  My personal experience after the deaths of each of my parents was THAT was the first question out of their pie-holes! The second was, "Are you the executor? Can we help make sure that anything going to WT gets there?"
