  I picked up on the word insolent which is defined as showing a rude and arrogant lack of respect.

  Of course if one were not to kiss the asses of the elders often enough they would consider that as the person showing a rude lack of respect and voilà, BRAZEN CONDUCT!

  this can be confusing because the wts has adjusted from not having a clergy class to not having a "paid" clergy class.. "a congregation of brothers precludes having a proud clergy class that honors itself with high-sounding titles and elevates itself above a laity" wt 6/1/2001 p. 12, pp 11. still same idea in 2021 wt october, p. 20, pp.

  7, but 2022 in the wt publication, frequently asked questions about jehovah’s witnesses, page 13, the wts inserts "paid" in front of "clergy perhaps to shore up their current statement in secular courts they have clergy, just not paid) "following the model of first-century christianity, jehovah’s witnesses have no clergy-laity division.

  all baptized witnesses are ordained ministers and share in the preaching and teaching work.

  They are partially correct. They do not have a clergy class they just have a proud ELDER class that honors itself with terms like Coordinator for the body of elders, Service Overseer, Secretary, Circuit Overseer, Branch Overseer, governing body, helper to the governing body, ad nauseam. And as said above all the freebies that they receive courtesy of "voluntary" donations by the gullible sheeple are in fact pay. Just ask any CPA or tax advisor if it is considered income/pay for tax purposes in the U.S. when it is given to a member of a business.

  i just had an incredible phone conversation with a long-time jw who has strong "q-anon" "sovereign citizen" beliefs.

  the wife(first gen) says she is not surprised.

  Why is it that "millions of people who believe in the level of freedoms that the US was founded upon" and are "getting tired of being abused, and are sick of the last 2 1/2 years of hypocrisy and abuse of power in the Government, Media, and Corporations" being so freely branded as QAnon believers or conspiracy theorists?

  If believing in the ideals that America was founded on, believing in the rule of law, believing in hard work being rewarded rather than penalized, believing in family, believing in the science of DNA and the list could go on much longer makes a person a QAnon believer or conspiracy theorist than I will proudly wear those labels. I had enough of blindly following the crowd as a PIMI JW and refuse to blindly follow the current WOKE agenda!

  on a recent jw.org video update joel dellinger makes thr case that the phrase " they keep saying to the mountains and to the rocks: “fall over us" in revelation 6:16 is a reference to symbolic mountain like organisation at the time of the end.what do you think?.

  If one is to believe anything in the drug fueled hallucination known as Revelations it would be symbolic. Remember everything in Revelations is symbolic EXCEPT the magic number of 144,000 which is literal, according to WTB.&T$$

  i saw this thread on reddit.

  i think the reason for this is that the 1975 fiasco is never mentioned in the jw religion.

  nobody mentioned it to me when i came in the years after.. the problem with this is that all the sad stories were never told (or hushed up) of people who sold off homes, etc.

  Well said. I am not sure why someone would disagree with your comment, unless they feel that people are too stupid to make their own choices and they also blindly follow whatever they are told to do.

  If someone tells you to jump off a cliff and you do don't blame them for your injuries!

  I’m not going to punish her future generations of children for it for all eternity.

  And yet God says this, "I Jehovah your God am a God . . . bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation."
  So why do JW's not imitate THAT? They should continually punish their children, their grandchildren, and if they live long enough their great grandchildren for any infractions. I wonder how that would go with secular authorities? Seems like imperfect people have some standards that are higher than a divine being.
