Yes, I remember when I was still in pretty well the exact same schedule where I am. Shortly before I finally got FedUp with it all I would turn down any group assignment and go alone. The last Saturday morning that I met, the group overseer thought he would shame me and asked, "What do you think is wrong with us that you do not join the group? Or do you just think you are more important that the group arrangement?" I replied in a forceful voice, "No, it's just that I intend to MAKE MY TIME COUNT, not go out and JUST COUNT MY TIME!"

in the mid to late 1980's there was a flood and the local kingom hall was damaged and many of the friends homes were damaged...groups came in to help repair.

my then mother-in-law literally lost everything-she had no home to repair...she had been renting a small trailer and it washed away.

I know I’m giving my age away. If somebody is really broke, they eat at home.

This will make two of us giving away our age. As a youngster I vividly remember that my family ate at home, all the time. My mother had a cookbook titled "101 ways to cook liver." We ate ground liver, liver loaf, fried liver, baked liver, broiled liver, hot liver, cold left-over liver. Because in those days it only cost $ .03-$ .05 (U.S.) per pound, it was pig liver. Once in awhile we had a rare "treat". Beef liver! That was when my father would get an employment bonus. Beef liver was a whopping $ .15-$ .20 (U.S.).

I was nearly seventeen before the first time we ate in a cafe.

I have had much the same experience when it comes to money and the WT. I too was able to get power-of-attorney over my late father's property and finances prior to his death, with the exception of a sizable stock investment which I was not able to change the beneficiary designation before he died and had to legally and ethically be split into an even share to WT. The ONLY communication I got from those greedy bastards was a letter from one of their lawyers asking if they were going to get more! Never one word of thanks!

The only way I would ever give them anything in the future was if it were the by-product of a couple pints that had been through my kidneys!

The F.B.I already knew where they were. They were the ones who left the documents there the last time they took anything away. They were the ones who told Trump to put an extra lock on the door. They were the ones who could have asked, but NO, this was a weaponized F.B.I. acting under the admitted direction political hacks who have a hard-on for Trump.

No matter how the TDS sufferers try to spin this it was a politically motivated witch hunt timed to attempt to do the most political damage to Trump.

And before you get your panties in a wad and start claiming I am a Trump supporter, I am NOT! I do not support ANY of these modern politicians who are just different sides of the same counterfeit coin! It's just that I hate the anti-Ameircan left more than the other side!

it’s a shame the gov body did a big u turn on vaccines .

if they continue with the rule that only fully vaxed can go back to the hall then i could have stayed on zoom.

but the term fully vaxed is a moving target, if it’s been like six months since your last shot you are just the same as those of us who are unvaxed .

At the earliest outset of the COVID jab being forced on people there was quite a bit of anecdotal (evidence in the form of stories that people tell about what has happened to them) available. It was all quashed (put an end to; suppress) even when presented by qualified medical personnel. The forced lock-downs, mandated masks, and forced injections of an experimental shot were never designed to help people, they were always by design a method to control people, and was manipulated by string pullers in the background who have an ulterior agenda of self-enrichment and de-population. No amount of obfuscation (the action of making something obscure, unclear, or unintelligible) by those who either stand to gain by so doing, or by the useful fools who support them will change that fact.

Were I to find myself in the medical circumstance where any member of either the HLC or PVG showed up I would tell them in no uncertain terms to "bugger off"! Of course I wouldn't tell any JW that I was going into a hospital in the first place.

No pension no preparation for retirement

a lot of my ex fellow servants must be now in their seventies, what can you do?.

no children no money no home.

it is so sad.. so many decided not to have children as the end was right around the corner and that was decades ago.

When the time comes later - they find out much to their disappointment they won’t get much from SS (like $800).

In my area there is an elder who complains that the combined Social security for him and his wife is only about $1,200.00 (U.S.) per month. That doesn't even cover the amount of taxes they pay on their home much less monthly expenses so they must continually withdraw the extra from their small inheritance saving from his parents. Of course that is another complaint, because there is nothing going into the account to replace what is taken out every month.

It’s too bad somebody wise (non-JW) didn’t inform them of these life facts when they were younger!

The same elder referred to above WAS told. He and his wife both brag that they made the choice to put Gee-HO'-Vuh first, never had any meaningful employment to build up Social Security benefits for the future, never had children who might have been able to look out for them when they got older, and they yap about how Gee-HO'-Vuh takes care of them every time some one hands them an envelope full of cash after hearing their whining about how tight finances are.

the teacher allowed time for the rebellious student to try to show that his methods were better than those of the teacher.

I thought this was a horse---t illustration. In real life the teacher would have the student removed from the classroom so the students who wanted to learn could. If the student continued disrupting the class after they were allowed to return they would be expelled from school. Of course it has been decades since I was in school so things probably have changed for the ~~worse~~ woke.

Agreed. They also would not punish their grandchildren by putting their hands on the burning flame, then their great-grandchildren, and make sure that every successive generation had their hands burned just to prove that fire is hot!.

I personally know five previously very healthy JW's who obediently followed the governing body's order to get fully "vaccinated" and boosted who have come down with very aggressive cancers, and two others who have had controlled auto-immune disease flare up and become now nearly completely uncontollable in only a few months after receiving their jabs.

I wonder who will incur blood-guilt for the JW's who are now living with a cancer death sentence as a result of the jab die?
