embedded in the cleveland ohio convention.
pre covid attendance was always 7k+ this year 4500.. 37baptised mixed bag.
less then half were children.. as far as patience goes, it can certainly help you be a better person when dealing with others but needless to say, this having patience waiting for jehovah is pure b.s.!
it`s not Jehovah who comes to their rescue ,but Satans world who bails them out .
For the sake of a dear older friend who is PIMI and pretty well confined to his home I took him to his Sunday meeting as he asked me to do for him. Between hands of online solitaire I noticed this little nugget of lunacy in the WT study. *** w23 May p. 10 par. 8 How Jehovah Answers Our Prayers ***
If Jehovah were to solve mankind’s problems now, it could appear as if Satan’s rulership were having a measure of success. They really went on about that. No one could provide any explanation of why Jehovah solving problems would appear that it was Satan. Wouldn't God solve the problems and also provide proof that it was HE would did it?
At least I had the satisfaction of providing some companionship for my elderly friend, a meal at a restaurant, and a bit of relief from being stuck in his home 24/7 with ZERO visits from any of the big wheels or important ones in his congregation.
The lack of any genuine "love" shown by JW's tries my patience with those hypocrites!
this was the 1963 assembly at twickenham.
i recall the wt deciding no more camping after this due to "immorality" having taken place.. https://youtu.be/lhcl-13dyne.
30 thousand members suffer 8 full days of hot sun, lunch served military style, sleeping in tents, bathing, cleaning and bathroom breaks ( who knows where ), mothers contending with nursing, feeding and changing little babies, no air-conditioning, long wait times to enter and leave the grounds...
Just shows to me that people living six decades ago were a much hardier stock than the wimps today.
And yes, I remember well the camping out, the long food lines, etc.
new wt october 2023....first an article remembering 1923....they make changes, the had a "prayer, praise and testimony weekly meeting".. after an study article about obey, specially paragraph 18.. i have a wild guess, next year, just one weekly meeting for the borg..
If they abandoned The midweek meeting, how would they push the flock to grow out in service?
there's no way they could have a talk, WT study and a training programme for ministry all in a single 1.5-2 hour meeting.
Both have the potential of being true. In their We Looovvee Yueww mentality they could announce that, "the governing body is pleased to announce they have approved the decision that just ONE meeting per week will be held Sundays for three hours with the current two scheduled meetings being combined. That way brothers you can go out in service on Sunday mornings and meet back at your assigned group location for a simple lunch you can bring with you and enjoy up building association with each other and relating the fine experiences you had in your mornings activity and then enjoy your lovingly prepared three hour meeting in the afternoon. We know you will appreciate this loving new arrangement."
I remember it very well. I guess I am older than dirt.
my grandfather who has been dead for 37 years would not recognise the borganisation today.
he would turn in his grave if he knew the end didn’t come by 2023.. back in the 1970s he really believed in the 75 thing.
he was so disappointed and almost blamed everyone else why the end didn’t come.
the majority of study conductors don't know how to do them well or can't be bothered any more.
100% correct.

the only item that still requires some proper preparation and attention is the WT study,
I respectfully disagree about proper preparation. I took a look at the WT "study for this Sunday and took the very first paragraph as an example. The title of the article is "Improving the Quality of Our Prayers".
Question #1: What does Jehovah invite his worshippers to do?
Answer: We can approach Jehovah God in prayer. Jehovah invites us to do just that.
Of course some long-winded blowhard will basically re-read the paragraph adding some words (in bold) of their own. Today we have much stress and hard times to deal with so when we find ourselves facing uncertainties we may wonder whom can we turn to when we need comfort and guidance? Because of our Bible education as Jehovah's Witnesses we know the answer to that question. The Bible assures us in God's words that we can approach Jehovah God in prayer. Jehovah invites us to do just that. He wants us to pray often—to “pray constantly.” (1 Thess. 5:17) So we can freely approach him in prayer and seek his guidance in all aspects of our life. (Prov. 3:5, 6) It is so comforting in these times of dealing with this wicked world to know that being the generous God he is, Jehovah places no limit on the number of times we can pray to him. That is why it is important to always work hard to improve the quality of our prayers.
And that is one of the many reasons I became FedUp and why the WT study was so dull and ran overtime every Sunday.

I've said it before, my mother who was baptized in the 1940's made the comment shortly before her death, "If Jehovah's Witnesses were THEN what they are NOW I would have NEVER become one!"
what happens when a jehovah’s witness who has been disfellowshipped returns to attending the meetings again?.
mark jones writes:.
if it's the same congregation that they previously attended then, yes, the congregation will remember who they are and so continue to treat them as dead or invisible.. one of the identifying marks a cult is that it uses shame and humiliation to control members, to keep them from leaving and manipulating those who escaped into coming back.. a disfellowshipped person is never allowed to quietly leave with dignity.
Is there a Witness time limit on repentance?
Nearly fifteen years ago I personally asked an elder that very question. His answer? "No! There is NO set time limit. It could be 1 year, 5 years, 10 years twenty years, or maybe never."
Of course he was an arrogant POS.

what to know.
a pennsylvania grand jury investigating child sexual abuse among jehovah’s witnesses has charged another five people with raping or molesting children as young as 4 years old.. the indictments friday are the latest charges in an ongoing probe that has identified 14 suspects.. state attorney general michelle henry says that while the misconduct dates back years or even decades, “the trauma endures for these victims.”.
The average JW doesn't feel that the problem is that serious, some even denying that they even have a problem at all.
In the area I live I just heard a circuit overseer say that "ALL accusations of child sexual abuse perpetrated by a Jehovah's Witness is nothing other than a Satanic inspired apostate lie. Jehovah's Witnesses do NOT abuse children!"
I did not hear this second hand, I heard it personally. I personally know a forty year old ex JW woman who was abused from the time she was four until she was in her teens while her JW mother looked the other way, elders said "wait on Jehovah", and others of her family members accused her of lying. What that circuit overseer said was in response to my letting him know of that particular incident.
