  @LHG - I understand what you are saying. I guess my take is that if one is fully out mentally, they may for the sake of family who are still in, occupy a seat at the KH without claiming or acting like a publisher by doing the door knocking work and no longer being counted as an active publisher. That was the way I left finally. And my take on this was molded by the time I spent doing the congregation accounts. No offense meant.

  Just a bit of clarification, it isn't a per seat occupied count, rather a per publisher. If you go just keep a seat warm and are no longer a publisher you are not counted.

  Secret Elders Book? Bwahahaha!

  i remember a couple of decades ago when the internet was relatively young and the wt was at war with it, that they were battling to keep the pay attention book secret, commencing legal action against anyone who published it online (and of course, trying to out anyone who leaked it).

  i think it was a norwegian skeptics organisation who had it available for download and dared the wt lawyers to come after them.. so i guess the new shepherd the flock book came out to try and put the genie back in the bottle and reassert some air of mystery and secrecy back into the equation.. so i typed jehovah's witnesses secret elder book into google.

  colour me gobsmacked!

  Exactly! I got in a heckuva argument with an elder one time about that very fact. I told him that the moment they put I.N.C. after their name it became a corporation and would be always run as a corporation. He of course denied that.

  Trump has been impeached and indicted over and over again.

  And only a blind fool would fail to see, or see and still not believe the weaponized three letter agencies in the U.S. are in fact being used against any citizen who does not kneel to the leftist agenda and spout the official democrat party lines. Trump spoke the truth when he said, "They're coming after you — and I'm just standing in their way.” That is why the left and the leftist sheep hate him so much.

  Does Bethel decide how much they expect each congregation to cough up, while pretending that it is the elders' decision?

  The "Branch" decides how much they want for the year, then "suggests" what the per publisher tithe contribution should be. The elders then read that letter, present a resolution to the congregation to pay the amount reached by multiplying the number of publishers by the "suggested" amount. No matter how the votes for/against/abstain are counted the resolution always show FOR: All and AGAINST: None. Then each month that the accounts falls short they "thank" the publishers for remembering to contribute so we do not fall short of our "vow".

  study article 22 is headed.

  "keep traveling on the "way of holiness".

  this article states that since 1919, having left babylon the great in that year, jws today are traveling on 'the way of holiness" (a figurative highway) as it takes them through the spiritual paradise and leads them through to future kingdom blessings.. they say that 'preparatory work' of that highway began centuries earlier.

  Strange that according to them only JW's were workers on the roadway receiving instruction from Jehovah here in the United States. Fifty years prior to this my great-great grandfather was a minister of some note in England, even traveling an annual circuit to preach sermons to remote congregations. He was already preaching about Christmas and the use of the cross then, and that the soul was not immortal. He was what was termed as a "dissenter" against the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Church of England. Some time worn writings in his own hand state how in the late 1800's he traveled to Pennsylvania, USA to meet with others who had similar beliefs.

  But of course the governing body has proclaimed that they, and ONLY they are the channel of Bible teaching. I would like to hear them explain why it was only the U.S. that had their "truth"?
