that would be a steps back and disappointment for these sisters.
last week i heard at my mom’s house how they were happy that this service was available for them, a proof that the org was moving forward.
I've always thought it so bizarre that women aren't allowed to do absurdly practical and not at all spiritual things like running mics and working a sound desk.

i actually enjoyed it on the whole, my dad as the elder always tried to keep it to under one hour but in my later years in a hard-line congregation it was a chore.
the po's wife had a printed list and we had to complete it all before left (or got disapproving looks if we left after an hour).. as well as vacuuming the whole building the lost said you had to dismantle the vacuum and clean and polish all the internal elements.
The elduh's always managed to do the least amount of work. Kids dusting, and of course the 'sisters' had to do the only thing they were JW qualified for and scrub the toilets. I remember my mother one time voicing her displeasure at the consistent puddles of urine on the floor under the men's urinal and all around the sit down toilet, including on the wall beside it. I made a cardboard sign and taped it to the wall which said, "Brothers, if your hose is short and your pump is weak stand close or you'll piss on your feet!" It was ripped off the wall almost immediately. But at least I had a laugh, BITD.
