Talk on "Reaching Out"-Only What BOE Thinks Matters

for the “living as christians” section of the workbook, “are you reaching out?” talk (15 min), the bethelite gave this talk at the meeting.

he totally departed from the subject matter which is the watchtower of september 15, 2014, pages 3-6. he was so far off the reservation, it wasn't funny.

here are a few highlights of what was said: 1) if any brother asked why they haven’t been appointed, and wants to know if there is a problem or condition that exists, that brother is too “presumptuous” and therefore, can’t be used.

If he isn't appointed, that means that the BOE feels that he isn't qualified. That's it.

I have been told the exact same thing in the past before I got fed up with the bullshlt. Then they wonder why no one wants to "reach out" anymore. After watching men who cheated on their wives, embezzled from their employers, were regularly drunk etc. getting rapidly appointed because they gave large $$$$ to the congregation while hard-working, conscientious men who kept out of the spot light were overlooked and put down I have done everything I can to avoid any "privileges".

Worshiping a piece of stone

today one of the members of the local congregation who is somewhat limited intellectually was showing off a small bit of cut granite stone.

as he did so he made sure to let everyone know that it was given to him by the congregation service overseer who just completed his second or third round of bragging rights slave labor at warwick.

he mentioned that, "brother _______ gave this to me as a piece of reality from warwick.

As he did so he made sure to let everyone know that it was given to him by the congregation service overseer who just completed his second or third round of bragging rights slave labor at Warwick. He mentioned that, "Brother _______ gave this to me as a piece of reality from Warwick. He took it from the site."

It was sickening to see the way most of the sheeple would reverently touch it, almost as if they were worshiping it. Some even commented how it made them feel "close to the governing body."

And I thought that they only worshiped God.

WT "Study" for 4th September 2016 - “Seek the Kingdom, Not Things”

i’m sitting there in the kingdom hall just thinking how rich it is of the gbojw to preach about materialism when they have recently been evidenced to be using bro’s & sis’ contributions to the world wide work to travel business class!

just that thought alone was leading me to read scripture while they were all engaged in the wt “study”.. however, then it came to paragraph 17 and i blurted / choked a little.

the paragraph said that “we should not imitate the people of ‘the nations,’ who have no real faith in a loving heavenly father who cares for those who put the interests of his kingdom first in their life.”.

I noticed the box had seven suggestions about How to Simplify Your Life.

The first five are in practice very good suggestions, but in no way are they some kind of "inspired" spiritual guidance. Those financial suggestions can be found in any secular financial planning guidebook. The sixth could be a practical suggestion depending on the personal circumstances of a person considering cutting back on secular employment. The seventh is just another case of the WTB&T$ continuing the "do more" beating.

The box was tied in with par. 20 giving five "suggestions" about ways to "seek the kingdom first". and every one of them were things that cost money.

Of the twelve total "suggestions" they were all things that would mean a sheeple should give more to the WT and have less for themselves. There is no way the WT can get around or deny their motivations in this article.

I suspect that having the LDC in overall charge would enable them organize some kind of re-use of older equipment (ie smaller TVs?) in either smaller halls, or in classrooms, where previously there wasn't a TV.

One would think so, but in the KH where I still antagonize the eldurrs by showing up, anything of value always had a habit of turning up missing with no knowledge of it's whereabouts as soon as the newest gadget was bought. Funny thing though, by some strange coincidence some eldurr or another would always happen to get a new identical device to the missing one at the same time they disappeared.

WT Study - 28th Aug 2016 - “Do Not Let the Faults of Others Stumble You”

in paragraph 2 of this study, the gbojw evidences once again that they are sticking to the absurd 1914 doctrine – “when the last days of the present system began...”.

i noted that as 2014 approached, the gbojw became somewhat reticent about making reference to revelation 12:12 – the “short period of time” scripture.

so this study is the first one in a long time in which both the 1914 doctrine and revelation 12:12 are mentioned in the same study.

I found that once again the entire WT discussion could be summed up by saying, if someone does anything that offends you, hurts you spiritually, physically, or emotionally, IT'S YOUR FAULT! After all you allowed them to do so. If on the other hand YOU do anything that offends them, hurts them spiritually, physically, or emotionally, then IT'S YOUR FAULT! You aren't showing "love".

And of course the everlasting fall back argument that not allowing yourself to be kicked down, and then asking to be kicked some more while you're down is the same as rejecting God.

I did notice too, there seemed to be a veiled excuse for their continued refusal to either acknowledge or handle the child abuse going on in congregations. The article made references to. . .many other cases that could be cited in which some who served Jehovah committed bad acts and hurt others. Sometimes those who have been guilty of serious sins reject Jehovah’s mercy and are unrepentant. In such situations, will you have confidence that Jehovah will in time judge such wrongdoers, perhaps removing them from the congregation?

Notice that they again trot out the "wait on Jehovah" card, and say PERHAPS, even if that person who made a mistake" is unrepentant? That is their get-out-of-jail free card. Of course the poor widows and orphans in the congregation who slip up will be summarily executed (DF'd).

Well it's pretty plain to see that Brother Spiritual is telling his wife about how Brother Fleshly minded brazenly bought that sailboat, in "spite of the counsel I gave him, so when he dies at Armageddon. . .soon. . . for not being obedient to those taking the lead Jehovah is going to reward me and give me his sailboat."

I mentioned this before, but if, while I was still in, I had sold personal property to a church organization, the elders would've hauled my ass into a JC right quick.

The same goes for buying from a church, "evidently". I needed livestock feed and was going to purchase it from the closest available source, an Apostolic Lutheran church. Got reamed by the then PO in that area for contributing financially to "the whore of Christendom."

JW Stand On Concealed Carry

if a jw wanted to get a concealed carry permit, would the society have any moral or ethical problems with it?

in other words, if one of your elders noticed you were carrying concealed, would they be apt to just ignore it or would they counsel you on it?

I carry this in a printout just in case some busybody, know it all eldurr tries to say that my legally obtained CWP that I obtained after a thorough background check and firearms training disqualifies me from being a Christian.
