  So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?

  it seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.

  i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?

  ... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

  my support is with the marchers in washington and around the country today.

  i was raised through my formative years by my mother and sister while my father was out of the picture.

  they gave me the compassion i have today.

  These women "protesting" were pretty much all dressed for the weather, they all had a satisfactory breakfast, they all had the financial ability to get to D.C. from wherever they traveled from, many of them probably even had the support of the men in their lives. To complain and whine about their treatment as women is hypocritical IMO. Let's see them engage in the exact same protest in countries that truly mistreat women. The countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, China...and what about going and protesting against female "circumcision" in the countries that ritualistically practice that? No, in my opinion these are just entitlement minded females who have nothing better to do with their time than whine.

  Now let the bashing begin. I have stated an opinion and I stand by it.

  Being a Rude Jerk, It's Awesome!

  maybe it's a british thing, but we tend to be polite.

  too polite.. even if someone is inconsiderate, we apologize as though we did something wrong.. prime offenders?

  people in supermarkets, specifically costco.. they have nice wide isles and yet somehow, for some reason, some idiot will find a way to put their trolley sideways and keep a hand on it while reaching for something, thus blocking the entire isle.. or another favorite ... you're going through the entrance and someone just stops, maybe to answer their phone.. how about you wait in a queue at a checkout for ages and when it's their turn, then they start looking for their purse.. how many times have you thought "idiot" or muttered under your breath?.

  @Simon - Wish I could have given more than just one thumb up.

  I really enjoy being in the 10 items or less line with my two or three items behind some jack-wad with a cart (trolley) full of sh-t and say in my most sarcastic voice, "Oh look! a math major that cannot read! Or are you a language major who cannot count?"

  a relative of mine was telling me, that in his, and a few neighboring congregations, there is a little confusion amongst some of the jw's about this "issue".

  some families are having a hard time about whether certain relatives will be attending certain family functions, because some family members that are no longer in the "truth", might be invited to these functions.

  mind you, these persons were never disfellowshipped.

  Jeezus, at the rate they're going, they're gonna start ostracizing anyone who just turns down a talk, doesn't answer at the WT study, or fails to get X amount of hours in field service...

  That's where I am at presently. No brazen sins, no "judicial" actions. Do I care that the hypocrites shun me? HELL NO!

  because their own fleshly BROTHER is going to be there, and he is not "in the truth". He is also NOT disfellowshipped.

  That is how the little Hitler mistrial serpent where I am at treats his brother, even to the point of refusing assistance to his JW mother if his brother might be there.

  They said they heard this at a recent regional assembly, from a speaker at the platform

  I heard the same exact statement, also at last summers regional indoctrination convention. So far every single person I have asked about that though denies that it was ever said.

  The WTS does like to focus on sex...can't imagine people just being friends with someone of the opposite sex without "doing it".

  Agreed. I really p---ed off a couple elders when I said that WT is more "sex mad" than anyone I know in the "world". When they pressed for my reason I told them only the WT is constantly preoccupied with the possibility of sex taking place at the drop of a hat between two people. Even the "world" doesn't focus on sex that much.

  Cooking With Cast Iron

  i can't even remember what got me interested in pans, probably wanting to try cooking more and watching some cooking videos on youtube, but i kind of started wanting to get a cast-iron skillet specifically so started reading up on them.

  hey, if you're going to spend $50 on something you need to study them and create a comparison spreadsheet ... right?.

  not only did cast-iron look great for cooking but there are some studies that show risks to aluminium / teflon cookware ... not that the wts was "right" about aluminium, but teflon can give off carcinogenic chemicals if overheated (so what if it chips off into your food?).

  Wipe out with paper towel

  Ditto. I have used cast iron for the better part of six decades. I was instructed on how to season and use them by an old-timer who was in his eighties way back then. He said a handful of sand and a rag or a piece of crumpled paper. Of course fancy things like sea salt and paper towels had not really come along back then. A properly seasoned cast iron skillet needs nothing more than this. Leave the film from the grease and drippings from your cooking in it. Perhaps a very rare water based cleaning. Remember, water is irons enemy.

  Past the bloom of youth? So wrinkled old people are the only ones who should be dating, and then only if they marry the one and only person they ever date.

  True experience, a guy at one of the conventions saw a sister smile at him across the arena floor and he got so hot and bothered wondering if she were married and "how tight her pussy might be." Sick freak is now an elder on his second wife.
  

  Of course you are old enough and mature enough to know yourself and make a lifetime commitment to WT when you are six or seven years old!
