The "faithful slave" urges confession in latest Watchtower!
by The Searcher inwatchtower october 2017, page 11, par.
17 - confess and abandon secret sins.
some christians who have committed a serious sin try to cover it over in order to avoid embarrassing themselves or disappointing others.

such “older men” cannot absolve anyone of sins...However, they are...qualified to reprove...a person...
So they cannot absolve or forgive sins, only God can do that; but they are qualified to JUDGE and then spiritually stone you. Makes perfect sense to me...

I "suggested" to one of the eldurrs that the now unused second school room (due to very low attendance and no TMS any more) be converted to smaller confessionals. I said that the three JC eldurrs could take turns manning them.
I keep "suggesting" that at every chance I get. Maybe this article will be another chance to bring that up, even though I cannot any longer make "public declaration of my faith".

OH! Because she doesn't have a penis...of course...makes perfect sense now....
Apologies in advance if I offend anyone. This statement reminds me of an old joke.
Little Johnny and little Susie were playing in the sandbox when little Johnny suddenly jumped up, dropped his trousers and underwear, and while pointing at his penis proclaimed, "I'll bet you don't have one of these!"
Of course little Susie knowing that she didn't burst into tears and ran home crying.
Several minutes later she came skipping back to the sandbox with a big smile on her face.
Little Johnny looking puzzled asked, "Why are you so happy? You don't have a penis."
Little Susie just hiked up her skirt, pulled down her panties and pointing between her legs giggled and said, "My mommy told me with one of these I could ALL of those I want!"
Sorry for getting off track a bit, but humor (even sick humor) is good for the morning.

What Happens If the JW Beard Policy Stumbles a Person
by Cold Steel insome of the videos on youtube really make the beard policy look ridiculous.
i wondered what would happen if the jw beard policy caused someone to stumble?
jesus most likely wore a beard, and charles taze russell had a beard.

Being stumbled by the WT beard ban policy is the individuals fault, not anything for WT to worry about.
This quote pretty well sums their excuse up: *** w88 8/15 p. 30 Maintaining Our Christian Oneness ***
Whatever the case, how regrettable it is when such overly sensitive ones allow themselves to be offended by trifles..."You see if one is stumbled according to WT it is that persons fault. Always blame the victim.

Good Ones (IMO): Marv Hollien - early sixties, Wayne Bjornson - early seventies, Gary Breaux - back in the day, Numan Zurahn - actually seemed to care about people.
Bad Ones (IMO): ??? Green - mid sixties, a real prick to kids, M. Harfman - an arrogant prick, Steve Misterfeld, ??? Prouton, ??? Smelser, basically every last mothers son of them except for the very few that tried to be decent people, at least IMO.

What made you stay "in" even when you knew it wasn't the "truth"?
by mentalclarity inso i've been thinking a lot about why i stayed a jw for so long even though i had always had doubts about the doctrines.
i was born into the religion, left and came back as an adult for another decade.
some of the things that come to mind (besides the threat of shunning-and this isn't to minimize that very real threat) was:.

Family. If I completely walk away at this point in time there will be NO ONE to look after elderly family. For them I stay...for now. When they pass the oh so "loving" asshats in charge are going to get more than an earful of why I am FedUp.

What is behind your choice of forum user name?
by stuckinarut2 injust curious how we all think.. what prompted or influenced your choice of username for this forum?.
there are some really amazing names, and it would be great to hear the stories behind them.... mine was nothing fancy.
i just felt "stuck in a rut too" along with so many others.

For many reasons I am FedUp with the crap being passed off as just the way it is in the "loving" organization. Too much lies, too much nepotism, too much BS!
The avatar indicates my opinion of the web site and their push for the latest, greatest gadgets.

the judge of all the earth always does what is right.
intended as a confidence builder in the organization ..see what you think.. theme is from deuteronomy but it is really highlighting that passage in genesis where abraham had a dialogue with god, (gen.18) would god destroy sodom if 50 righteous men would perish?

Who, upon being stumbled by another JW would become “enraged against Jehovah,” because of it? Could someone please shed some light on how that verse is applied under these circumstances?
The old go-to excuse is that if some jack-wad at the KH really does something to piss you off, perhaps even theft or some sort of fraud, and you decide to skip going to the meetings because the idiot elders refuse to handle the situation, even promoting that jack-wad to MS or elder himself, then you are alleged to be enraged against Jehovah. It's just another case of equating men to the same level as God, and you better d--ned well like it.

WT calls these things done to the rank and file "injustices",
Most often they are called "mistakes", or they are routinely brushed off as "seeming" injustice, "perceived" injustice, or very "rare", and ALWAYS it is the victims fault. Something THEY did that warranted being treated like dirt on the bottom of the governing body's shoes!
Now I wonder why I am FEDUP?
