Ray retired and he and his wife Bessie moved from New York City to Texas. Wanting to try to fit in Ray went to the local western wear store and bought the fanciest cowboy boots he could find. He got home and proudly wore them into the house hoping Bessie would notice and say something. She didn't. All day he wore them, doing everything he could to get Bessie to notice his new boots, which she never acknowledged. Finally in a desperate attempt to get her to notice his new boots when it was time for bed he stripped down completely naked, except for his new boots and strode out to the middle of the bedroom. Then he asks, "Bessie, don't you notice anything different about me tonight?" Bessie coolly looks Ray up and down from head to toe and back again shakes her head and replies, "No. It was hanging down last night. It was hanging down this morning and it is still hanging down." Frustrated Ray yells, "It's looking at my NEW BOOTS!" To which Bessie replies, "Should have bought a hat Ray. Should have bought a hat!"

Jehovah's Witnesses and the Great Crowd
by Meshech inas jesus christ was preparing to go to his death, he encouraged his disciples with these words:.
"in my father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, i would have told you.
i go to prepare a place for you.

Just throwing a comment out for what it's worth.
There MIGHT be a so-called pair of dice earth with people living on it like the original GOE, IF one were to actually believe the Genesis account. And IF one were to believe the GC and Jesus words about "other sheep" etc. why couldn't there be THREE groups with TWO destinations? A bunch of naked people petting pandas forever on earth, a Great Crowd (no definite number) in heaven and the so-called "little flock" of the alleged 144,000?
Just $.02 worth.

Do elders still ask inactive members to write a letter to disassociating yourself from the Congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS indo today's elders ever meet with inactive members and pressure them to write a letter disassociating themselves from the congregation stating that, ''you no longer wish to a jehovah witness"?.
i was baptized at the young age of 16. after turning 18, i stopped attending meetings, field service, and all jehovah's witness activities.
i wanted to be with my high school friends, go to rock concerts, have a girlfriend, and live like a normal teen.

Elders are not to try and force anyone to DA.
I don't have a horse in this race, however since when do elders really ever shive a git about what "official" policy is when they have a chance to flex their "muscle" and try to act like an alpha dog in the WT pack?

I asked a few how they could reasonably explain 3,000,000 in the camp of Israel in light of this:
(Deuteronomy 23:12, 13) . . .And a private place should be at your service outside the camp, and you must go out there. 13 And a peg should be at your service along with your implements, and it must occur that when you squat outside, you must also dig a hole with it and turn and cover your excrement. . .
How would THAT work? Imagine having to walk across chicago or some other similar sized city far enough to get out of the city just so you could take a dump?

Be Honest in All Things - New video exposes a problem with honesty at Bethel/Construction
by George One Time inon tv.jw.org kenneth cook jr. discusses how important it is to be honest when applying for special assignemts.
he mentions health and viewing pornography.
those who viewed pornography during the last year should not apply.

Those who viewed pornography during the last year should not apply.
Trouble with that is that some have been defining "pornography" in a way that includes women in bathing attire too. What about some art from centuries ago? What about a nude person shown only from the back, above the waist? What is considering "viewing"? A brief glance at a still photo of a bare breast? A long look at a full frontal nude?
There are way too many prudes in WT to have to comply with when answering that question.

Why Do JW Speakers and GB Members Sound So Robotic?
by minimus ineveryone sounds like they came out of stepford wives.
.
is this supposed to be the way witnesses are to speak?

The JW's are known as a religion however the truth of the matter is that at heart it's simply one big corporation.
I got soundly told off when I made a similar observation. I mentioned that it is wtb&ts INC. and that the minute the INC. was added it became a CORPORATION, and as such it had to function as a corporation including how the main focus was the financial bottom line. Sheesh, talk about a spit flying response from the elder I said that too.

What Do You Think Will Be The Next Big Change In The Watchtower?
by minimus ini think there will be a change in the 144000 belief.
too many witnesses think they have a heavenly hope.
maybe 1914 will be discarded too.. what is your watchtower prediction?

Agree with the 144,000 idea. That would just be reverting to what was taught in the early years, just like the flip-flopping superior authorities explanation. It would also fit with the "overlapping" B.S. and buy more time.

Of course the NRA and the worshipers of old documents (written by people to fit their times and places)
Yeah, who the hell needs to worry about the 1st, 4th, or 5th amendments either?

IDK any more what goofiness will come spilling out of the "Great Ones" pie-holes. All I know is I "buried" ALL my WT publications recently when they went to the landfill in boxes. Pretty sure they won't be confiscated there.
