today's article prods active jws to participate in the effort to reactivate us backsliders.. unfortunately, it fails to prepare the participants to adequately address the real reasons so many have left and want nothing frtherethan to be left alone: the un and child abuse scandals, prophetic failures; dumbed-down, increasingly specious and simplistic verbiage in literature and talks, the cult of personality and unwarranted veneration of those 8 singularly unremarkable members of the gb, etc., etc..

What I find most puzzling is how they can spend hours, in a very unpleasant situation, knocking on random doors and yet give so little attention to existing membership.

Agreed. I remember once asking one of the elders, on one of the very few occasions that they made a "beat the flock" call on me, if they really thought it was a productive use of time to try to forcefully drag new people in the front door of the kingdom hall while at the exact same time willingly letting existing members walk out the back door without a word of concern? His arrogant reply? "If they do not want to be here, we really do not want them here either! After all. . .Jesus said, 'GO and make disciples, NOT stay, and KEEP disciples!' "

Does Anybody Here Sympathize With The Looters That Cause Destruction?

i realize some here are diehard democrats.

whether you are democrat, republican or independent, do you support any of these looters that cause mayhem and destruction for their cause?

i have heard some people sympathize with these law breakers saying they understand why they do what they do and leave it at that.. of course i wonder how they would feel if their own property was burnt or stolen or destroyed..

whether you are democrat, republican or independent, do you support any of these looters that cause mayhem and destruction for their cause?

Resolution passing with zoom

hi folks.. i put this in practices as i thought that appropriate.

perhaps it should be in scandalous behavior.

not a big deal but an example of the cult-ish intimidation and behavior.. at the end of this mornings short wt review prior to the convention brainwash by jackson, ( melbourne australia) the elder stated "brothers we have a resolution to present to the congregation".

This is the comment I made a few days ago when this resolution was presented in my locality:

The resolution was not unanimous in my area.

I sent an email to the secretary specifically stating NOT IN FAVOR. Good Lord, you would have thought that it was the end of the world judging by the s--t that hit the fan. I was only too willing to state the reasons why I was not in favor of increasing the financial load on now unemployed R&F thanks to COVID-19. No new building, no remodels, no CO's traveling. Oh, but the CO's still have expenses said the elder. I replied with a WT quote that the FIRST responsibility for financial help was family, then gubmint programs, then finally the congregation IF the other resources had been tried and exhausted.

Only one meeting later I find out that the login password has been changed with the message, "The password entered does not exist." The elder who received my email changed it and I am "officially" banned. Some days just turn out to be better than others.

how do the congregation view the inactive ones who no longer associate?

not with disdain, we are told but as lost sheep “still our brothers “ it is said that god loves them and they too must do what they can to help them.. why have we strayed ?

Or "loving" members of the congregation may torment a person who has broken God’s law in the decades ago past, making him feel unworthy of God’s love.

Personally, if there is a god I do not believe he gives a fart in a mitten about humans.

Flu Vaccine Now REQUIRED For All Students Going To School In Massachusetts

this is a requirement now in massachusetts.

children must get a flu shot by december 31. some allowances are made for religious reasons and health reasons.. personally, i don’t agree with the government making this mandatory.. what is your opinion?

Since We Are In 2020 What Do You Miss?

i miss listening and dancing to live music on a weekend night.. i miss going into a crowded mall store to window shop.. i miss going out into public and not having to wear a mask.. i miss seeing people freely mingle on a busy street or sidewalk.. what a difference a year makes!.

We have lost a lot of our rights.

While I agree and like your comment, I do not entirely believe we have "lost" our rights. There is a pretty big divide between "lost" and "given up". There have been too many who were, and still are, willing to accept government guidelines as law, and allow even the most useless mandates for the placebo feeling of safety, and to virtue signal that they are somehow more compassionate to retain the rights that were given up.

If one does not understand what I am saying there is no explanation possible, and for those who do no explanation is needed.

I think singing together on zoom is the one form of worship that seems legit/pleasurable.

That would be correct, IF they would actually let everyone hear everyone else singing like the "old days" at the KH. Where I am they mute everyone, so all you see is a bunch of mouths moving and only hear the goddawful song.

thanks petra and atlantis for sending the latest letter regarding the watchtowers plan for a worldwide campaign in november this year.

i am wondering what they are planning to achieve from this campaign, particularly their focus on sending the watchtower 2020 no.

2, titled "what is god's kingdom" to politicians, governments (and tribal leaders) around the world.. it would appear that this is their answer to governments who have put them in the spot light for their bad policies, particularly their handling of child abuse.

I am wondering what they are planning to achieve from this campaign, particularly their focus on sending the Watchtower 2020 No. 2, titled "What is God's Kingdom" to politicians, governments (and tribal leaders) around the world.

They are being nothing other than the dopey kid on the school playground that goes up and kicks the school bully in the shin, and then whines about getting tossed to the ground in retaliation. And then does it again, and again, and again; and NEVER learns to quit kicking the bully if you do not want to get your nose flattened.
