Thank you Wake Me Up Before You Jo-Ho. I did not know anything about nr. 8 and 9, so those will be very, very, useful!

Study with an Elder - propose a question.
by CitizenofEarth inhello there.. as some of you might remember i am keeping my facade up by "studying" with an elder.
this study however is more of a session where i put hard questions about the org, doctrine and so on, on the table.
the time has come for the next session in a couple of days, and i have quite frankly lost the will to keep digging up things that just shouldn't be happening.

Hello there.
Now this is not laziness, as i have went through more than three books, including CoC, the Australian Royal Comitee videos (was i the only one almost screaming at my screen i anger when seeing this?), almost all of jw.facts and this forum too in the search for more. But my interest lies in astronomy, soccer, and one girl - not God, doctrine and human errors.
Alas - to the point. If anyone feels like it, i would appreciate if you would put out an example of a question i could pose about almost anything relating to the Org which could occupy two grown people for several hours - especially one who has been a devout witness for decades, and an Elder for years. Remember that nothing hinders me from bringing a topic up that i have already brought up before, which is why i just throw such a wide request out here. Maybe you have different ways to pose questions that could cast more light on a subject.
Greetings

Hello there.
I was looking for the word that jwfacts.com used for "forcing a meaning" into ex. a scripture. Fx. the GB forces a meaning into proverbs 4:18. If anyone know that word, or something akin towards it, it would be appreciated.

Allright then. I will most likely save myself the trouble then, and money. Not sure about the getting laid part, but i will look at those links you guys have provided. Thank you all!

Hello there.
As above. Anything i should be aware of? I am not sure i will go, since i just moved away from home a month ago. It is not cheap to travel 250km and pay for hotel here in Denmark, and i am not exactly rich. I would like to hear what views you have on this - perhaps some pros and cons and so on. I have not been going to the meetings for some time now, probably around 6 months (18 years old atm.).

Elder told me that they are required to report to police.
by CitizenofEarth inyesterday i had my weekly "mandatory" study with an elder, and i brought up child abuse and the whole issue with reporting it to the police.
he told me that they are required to report to the police immediately, and that they never deter people from reporting anything.
may i remind you that i am from denmark.. i find this interesting, as everything i find elsewhere states quite the opposite, or atleast provides statements that does not agree with his statements.

Congrats to you CitizenofEarth. Good name by the way.
Eighteen and you already know the truth about the truth!
I wish you all the best for the rest of your life.
Try to stay on good or at least decent terms with your family if possible.
Remember however that your brain has not yet finished growing (that happens in your mid to late twenties). So a good education is important now it can provide a proper foundation for your future. A practical use for your education needs to be understood. I have seen far too many young people get side tracked and finish or leave the higher education system without any marketable skills.
Also make sure you protect yourself from excessive alcohol, drugs and the other traps that can turn you sideways.
Use this forum because while we may not be the youngest group of people......... collectively we have thousands of years of experience you can tap into. We are not limited to just JW interests.
Your parents brought you up telling you that the end was just around the corner that's the JW short game. Now you will have to adjust to the long game........ an additional 70 or so years to live your life. Different rules........ different goals.
Thank you very much for those words. I havent had a smile on my face for some days now, so that was a relief. Indeed, education is very, very, important, and i have fought a hard and long battle to even be where i am now. Yeah, but man how is it sad to see my peers swallow everything whole without a second thought (Many young people in my congr.). One more year though and then it is university for me. Yes - the collective knowledge of this forum is one i wont discard, and i will certainly use it in the future. And the end is still right in a moment as they keep on saying - they said i wouldnt reach the end of Gymnasium, and now i am almost done with that.
One day in the near future i will certainly tell my story too (although a bit shorter than the experienced ones), as many of you have, and then you can enjoy another story of someone who saw through the facades and took a stand.

That will cause more problems than it solves.
If you must do it then just nod and smile sweetly and then never go again when you move.
Indeed it has. And yes - i have more important things, like education, to spend my time on atm.

It's only mandatory if you're 10 years old.
Well - my situation is different. Im only 18 years old, and fading while living at home is hard. Unless i want to rise suspicions i cant remove, i have to study with this elder. My condition for the study though, is that i raise the questions, and i decide what we should talk about. But within a week i wont be living home anymore, since my parents have "thrown" me out (they cant take that i once/twice a week show them another thing about the Org that is unbiblical). And when im out i can begin fading in a different way - so i am looking forward to that.
