Think about why Mojado is derragotory and insulting: because you're implying someone is a lawbreaker or a cheater. It has nothing to do with race. Context: I'm a Mexican. -

Internally rolling my eyes.. Get this
by raven ina bit of an update, last weekend was my great grandmothers funeral, now, she was never a jw, and never was going to be, no matter how hard my mother, and grandmother tried to preach to her, she was the type of person that would kindly accept a wt or a book, but she wouldn't bother reading them.. anyways, she was a great wonderful and inspiring woman, the funeral was extremely sad, she had been a school teacher for over 35 years and a member of various clubs, so there were a lot of folks besides family that attended.. well, anyways i was there and so was my jw mother, stepfather, and grandmother, we were cordial, didn't talk about anything jw related because, it was great grandmothers funeral, not really a time to discuss how i am an evil sinner, or how i've escaped the org by avoiding df'ing, right?
wrong, as i'm sitting waiting for the service to begin, a lady shows up, now- i have known this woman for a long time, apparently she baby sat me as a small child, (like i remember?
) so she isn't someone i was ever close with, but knew of her or when she was around would say hi to and make small talk.. to give you a tid-bit on her personality though, she is one of those crazy jw's.. she claims to have been possessed by a demon, very very wacky on the prophesies, or gb talks, etc.

I'm sorry you had to go through this.
I admire your restraint. It wasn't the time or place for her to do what she did, but it also wasn't the time or place to tell the lady, "DON'T YOU REALIZE YOU ARE ACTING LIKE A CULT MEMBER?"
Ugh...
Again, sorry you had to endure that. I admire your ability to stay calm and not say anything...

So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?
by Simon init seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.
i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?
... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

Look up the reliability of Rasmussen to decide if 59% is Trump's true favorability rating. I'm expecting Conway to announce it very soon.
On Jan 17, President Obama's Job Approval according to Rasmussen Reports was 62%. Do you dispute those numbers also?

Trump is only a madman to those that disagree with him because he's Trump.
I disagree with his stances on Climate Change and Grabbing Genitals, but I agree with him on some points too, like withdrawal from TPP, screening muslim immigrants, and trolling the press. (Honestly, it's a lot of fun to see the press get their panties in a twist.)
He's currently polling at a 59% job approval rate, BTW. So...not everyone agrees with your diagnosis of him being a "madman."

Simon is making sense. Those of you going after him for questioning the narrative need to remember what it was like when you were in the borg and how those that questioned the borg's narrative were treated. Bullied until either they conform to the narrative, or completely dismiss them and shun.

The con is completed - comments from the US branch's LDC chief
by sir82 inrecently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.
it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.
he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

Whores are honest about what they do, the wtbts is not.
Not the ones that pose as "Massage Therapists."

This is just a rumor at this point, of course.
However, it does make sense.
Compared to 10 years ago, the Organization is printing something like 60% less magazines a year, not to mention the diminished demand that exists in developed nations due to the push for digital adaptation. I bet they could print 90% of the worldwide demand for literature in New York alone.
As far as the CO thing, it could have a grain of truth, however I think a little may have been lost in translation. Perhaps they're reorganizing the CO structure and will have a Pioneer Elder that is assigned to a certain geographic region.

AND STILL NO RELEASE OF THE 2017 JW YEARBOOK
by steve2 inhere we are on the cusp of the new year, and the 2017 yearbook of jws has still not been released.
jw.org continues to feature the 2016 yearbook in its list of main publications.
in previous years, the upcoming yearbook's annual report on jws was released in november for the january 1st then the feb 1st watchtower, then earlier in december when it was only featured in the yearbook, then more recently with a couple of days of december 25th.

The 2016 Yearbook became available for download on December 25, 2015
The 2015 Yearbook became available for download on January 5, 2015
Any talk of a "delay" isn't rational based on the record. It's not unprecedented for the yearbook to be released even after the first of the year.

I have some confidence that this is being dealt with honestly.
But, JWdaughter, you also have confidence that Islam is the one true religion. Therefore, how can your judgment be taken seriously?
