True, snake can be used in positive sense also. Snake would not move reverse which is a symbol of not reliving the memories of past (which is the sign of ego) creating hell for one's self (Habakkuk 2:5); thus symbol of living in the now--something Jesus knew very well. (Luke 17:21)

There is a beautiful comment by Sartre in his Being and Nothingness: We are 'condemned to be free.’ What he means is that we cause our own suffering by our choices. This is the truth about God who is The Witness who has left everything to the natural law of Cause and Consequences, and whose natural role is to “renew” the provisions for life’s enjoyment whenever they are depleted or destroyed by human choices. (Mathew 12:35; 19:28) This concept of God, when travelled to the West, was evolved into a jealous God who would not tolerate worship of other gods. (Ex 201-6). This change in the concept about God necessitated the creation of Satan.

Details differ according to each culture but essential concept remains the same. You can take Bible as a sample case. Satan is personified and picturized by a snake. Snake is a perfect symbol of ego, and by extension symbol of Satan because it can easily access any place, even in paradise; it is the carrier of poison which symbolizes the final outcome of sensual pleasures. It doesn’t get rooted if a person doesn’t continue to focus on egoistic desires; but gets stronger and stronger if one continues to nourish egoistic desires. This is symbolized by snake having seven heads in some cultures or as ten headed monster in other cultures.

Bulk of Bible contains untruth; yet this is irrelevant because it contains too precious things, eternal truth such as Mathew 7:12; 25:31-46 where humanism is put above even the concept of God.

Concept of Satan is something that is very interesting if we really understand it. The wise ancient people made it easy by personalizing wasteful qualities into Satan. (Hebrew, Greek root carries the concept of wastefulness as opposed to fruitfulness). Wastefulness is omnipresent in the sense that it is inherent with anything fruitful if its fruitfulness is not made use of. In this sense we can say knot is inherently present in a straight chord if it is used in such a way that a knot appears in it, yet knot is not the part of chord. Knot appears to be real, but it is not. So is the concept of Satan, and the evil he personifies.

according to amzallag, long before becoming the deity of the israelites, yahweh was a god of metallurgy in the ancient canaanite pantheon, worshipped by smelters and metalworkers throughout the levant, not just by the hebrews.

That means what happened to ocean happened to God. Proximity to geographical locations determined various naming of ocean which is only one.
Similarly, Israel too adopted a God who was father of all as exclusively belonging to them.
happiness, sorrow and anger are just our emotions.. god can easily give us happiness by taking away from us the emotions of sorrow and anger.. that will happen immediately after the big a.. when you see your loved ones killed at a, you will be happy.
you no longer has the emotion of sorrow.. no one will scold you as noboby has the emotion of anger.. you will always be happy and smiling.. this is what being perfect means .

The God who kills majority for the sake of a microscopic minority exists only in the imagination of Bible writers who also wrote Joshua stopped sun from revolving till he achieves victory over a war he was fighting. Real God that exists outside the purview of Bible is unconditional love because
1) He has fine-tuned the universe whose too obvious teaching to us is that we must fine-tune our activities to benefit us and others. He has never asked anyone of us to give Him worship or honor; but has given us, on a daily basis, the proof that He doesn’t favor worshippers because they pray to Him nor He punishes those who dishonor Him by denying His very existence. Thus His action proves that He is unconditional love. If humans are going to be killed, that would be because of the arms-merchants of the earth whose ego and greed is greater than the size of universe God has created.
2) God has planted life only on earth which looks almost like a dust-sized particle in comparison with the vast universe (which thus leaves the basis for spirituality that we have no basis for fighting war small or big between individuals or nations (individuals collective) because the earth we reside itself is only dust-sized ruling out the possibility to create an ego for humans and thus to grow it greater than the size of universe.

for an all powerful, all knowing god it seems most of his plans go awry, so why assume that armageddon/ new system will work?

When I carefully read the whole Bible I could easily reach this inescapable conclusion:
Its first chapter says “God made mankind in His image” whereas the rest of the Bible shows “man made God in his own image.”
we have the account of god changing our languages and thus we all separated all over the world.. i wonder how different, maybe even peaceful if god didn't do that.. looking at the story now it seems pathetic that he needed to do this to stop men wanting to reach the heavens to take a sneaky peek at him.
we've been much further than mankind back then could have ever imagined and god isn't visible.. but yeah how different would history have been if this account never happened..
Noah’s flood and the way God put more hardship on Noah’s family by building an ark that took care of over 84 million species (than on the wicked who just got drowned and died in a matter of seconds), and commanding Noah to kill and eat animal flesh—the very animals he commanded him to save … all go to show account doesn’t fit divine inspiration.
Nimrod’s account is an offshoot of Noah’s flood, and with such a memory of global destruction still burning in their mind, it is unlikely that anyone would rebel like the way Nimrod did. It means the whole account including confusing of language is fictional. If such a rebellion really took place, God would naturally deal with it differently--never through confusing of languages which would naturally bring difficulties for billions of unrelated parties.
