But to them, the fundamental "bible truth" is that they are the one true religion worshipping the only true god. So... the intention of sharing bible truths as they say would always be to make them believe that they need to join the one true religion.

So my PIMO Younger Brother Tried To Kill Himself Today
by pale.emperor inwe all know that this cult will drive those trying to leave to desperate measures, and today by brother was very nearly one of those statistics.
he slashed his thigh with a kitchen knife and was bleeding out until he called the police.. i got a call on my way home from work from a police officer, coincidentally it was one of my old friends from school who's now a cop.
he told me my brother is in hospital after an attempted suicide and has lost some blood but will be ok. but i should get to the hospital as he's asking for me.

Wow. This makes my heart hurt. None of this is your fault. None of it. I hope that your brother receives the support he needs and that he can discern who is truly there for him as a person and not a "publisher."

Pro-Blood Transfusion Directives for the Ex-JW
by Cimarrona inhey everyone, i have a question... all of my family members are jehovah's witnesses, save my son and me.
if something were to happen to me and i lost consciousness, my parents would be the best of kin called on to make medical decisions.
how do i ensure that if a transfusion is needed, hospital/doctors are clear that i do indeed want a transfusion and that my parents cannot override that decision?

I'd never thought about this until reading a post about transfusions a few minutes ago. I'm not going to let them kill me or take me away from my child.

And thanks, everybody! How great it is to celebrate life and be happily tethered to reality and the material world as it is and not as some coocks imagine it "should" be! I'm looking forward to the next year of growth, material and spiritual prosperity (!!!), lessons, love and romance π, intrigue, and good health for me, my son, and anyone else my well wishes can reach!

Slowly killing themβ¦
by silentbuddha inso yesterday a family friend who was never age overs witness give me a phone call.
he says that he is quite upset with me and wants to give me a chance to explain why i'm treating my father so portly.
mind you i have not seen my father or mother in about 3 years and they refused to talk to me except for the occaisional crazy letter that my mother will send.. anyway my the family friend stated that he spoke to my mother and brother and they both told him that because i choose to leave the religion and in turn separate myself from the family it has caused my 80 something year old father a tremendous amount of stress and she is becoming sick and they're not sure how much longer he will be with us.. shoot felipe nothing they say really bothers me much anymore but the fact that i'm being accused of slowly killing my father because i've decided to make a decision that's better from my own family is actually quite frustrating to me.. give you hours after having of the conversation with our family friend i get a call from my older brother who then begins to be raped me and tells me that i should accept responsibility for the fact that i am the cause of our ejean father's poor health and that leaving jehovah causes problems not only for me but for those who love me.

Non JW wife/JW husband Christmas tree debate

Spacegirl,
I truly feel for you. I've never been married to a JW or otherwise, but growing up, I closely observed a few "mixed" marriages (most often with JW wife/non-JW husband) and can tell you that (1) peace and harmony are, at best, fleeting if not altogether non-existent and (2) there is absolutely no respect by the mate or their JW family/friends for the beliefs of non-JW partner - THE GOAL IS ALWAYS TO CONVERT. PERIOD. Ironically (to JWs at least), of my four older sisters, my sister who married a non-JW is the only one whose marriage lasted more than five years (and is still going reasonably strong). When I was a teenager opening up to my parents about my romantic interests and such and talking to my mother about her romantic past leading up to my father, in relation to my non-JW brother in law, she said that him being a good husband/father was a tool of the devil to mislead us into association with worldly people. You hear me, Spacegirl? She said the only reason that a man who she'd known upwards of ten years at this point would treat her daughter and grandchildren well is because of the devil. And let me tell you - on the JW spectrum, my mother is a liberal leaning moderate. Be careful.

"Hahaha their ancestors were kidnapped and enslaved and forced to purge their pagan ways (including their language) and embrace Jesus and English in order to advance European/Anglo-American empire. And they still speak English so funny. It's cute. Hahahaha." π€π€π€
